A real nostalgia soft spot album for me. This album blew my mind when I first heard it as a 13 year old kid in the 90s. It opened my mind to non radio play music. Or at least what would make it on to my town's two rock based stations. I bought it because the cover looked cool. The opening guitar riff of Holidays in the Sun will forever be etched in my brain as a turning point milestone in my life. The whole album really hit me properly even if Problems does drag on a bit 30ish years after I discovered it. One of the most famous punk albums of all time happens to be one of a handful of albums I have instantly loved on first listen. Being the first of such albums this one holds a very important place for me in my all timers list. Five stars 10 out of 10.

The 90s-00s pop movement never really caught me as I was too busy being young and punk at the time to care for it. I was aware though that Christina could sing so I was open to this album when it came across my feed. The first disk didn't really do anything for me and became quite repetitive in it's styling . Conversely the second one had a far more varied sound and I caught myself enjoying a good number of them. Particularly Save Me From Myself, I really dug the sound. Her rendition of Candyman was quite fun as well. Giving 3 out of 5 though it's more like a 3.5 Far better than her contemporaries.

Having never gotten much in to jazz I quickly recognized how influential this album was. Everything from direct samples to a general feel so much of this album is scattered throughout many of my favourites over the years and I had no idea at all. I thoroughly enjoyed this album and really surprised myself in doing so. What a wonderful album that deserves any praise it may receive.

One of my all time favourite albums. The 5 star system often means an album that is a 9/10 will earn itself a 5 star from me. This album is not that. I would contend this is easily the best 90s rock album out there and an all time great. It had such a futuristic feel when it came out that perfectly encapsulated that period of truly evolving from an analogue to digital world. Few albums have stuck with me since my first listen like this one has. Of the 12 tracks on the album 7 are in my favourite songs list on Spotify. Some childhood nostalgia in here to be sure as it was one of a few records my mother owned growing up. I remember as a young lad being drawn in by the cover art to try out the album I was pleasantly surprised by how well this held up for me despite not having heard it in decades. This is more a 3.5 than a 4 for me as it can get a little tedious by the end of the album and some songs do seem to bleed together but otherwise a fun orchestral rock journey.
