Haven’t listened to a country album in ages (not really my cup of tea), but I would say it was an interesting experience. The combination of country music played at a prison with the comedic breaks in between invokes a feeling of a more complete performance that feels quite authentic. Actually quite liked these segments. At first I didn’t feel the energy, but after the first half I started to get it more and more - but it was not as alluring as i thought it would be. However for me, the music itself didn’t really hit the nail on the head – seemed a little repetitive, and with the combination of the themes there was not one song that i liked fully. Still enjoyed it as a whole, was glad to listen to and experience it, but I wouldn’t say its something groundbreaking or something I would put on in my free time. Rating also +1 higher because of the history, certainly adds a whole another level to it.
