Listening statistics & highlights
First half was a vibe, second half put me to sleep. Holistically, I'm struggling to see where the genius of Ray Charles is at.
This album was like trying to drink that A&W chocolate sundae flavored soda. You try gas-lighting yourself the first few songs into liking it, and then it just takes a nosedive so hard you can't even finish the album. I couldn't stand this album after the first two songs.
I'm usually not a fan of these "anti-concept" albums. Nonetheless, The Beatles have made a stunning one, and it was absolutely worth the full listen.
After hearing Speakerboxxx, I was so ready to give this album a 5/5. It was so thrilling. Unfortunately, The Love Below was not satisfying, but that almost doesn't matter because of how great Speakerboxxx was. Thus, I only docked one point.
