1001 Albums Summary

Way proggier than I expected. This is not the radio hit that I associate with some of the later Sabbath work. I can definitely see how this inspired subsequent metal genres, as it sounds way ahead of its time.

I mean I get it. But I don’t think I can pick one song apart from the others. This is the kind of jazz that I’ve been told I should like but I just don’t. The intra verse movements are just not very interesting to me, and nothing really jumps out at me. 2/5.

I don’t think I’m cool enough to get it. All the songs feel pretty unremarkable. I didn’t hate it. 2/5

There is something undeniably cool about this album. It makes you want to bob your head and dance about. Maybe take a walk and take in the harsh beauty of life. High 4.

This is delightful through and through. Maybe it’s just my current mood, but I feel like every song is just hitting. It’s the perfect blend of melody and fun. Strong 4/5.

I find this album to be all the bad part of Velvet Underground. It’s like the irritating part of cool. There are parts that are somewhat enjoyable, but overall I am just very annoyed by it. I keep wishing I were listening to something else. 1/5

Perfect blend of recognizable and ambiguously familiar hits. Just gets the mood going. 4/5

There are some good parts, but then he throws in these weird noises. They accomplish the goal of irritating the shit out of me. Just overall giving off a sense or someone trying really hard to be cool and different. 1/5
