i honestly had not heard any songs off this album besides fast car. i really enjoyed it the rough quality of her voice was really pleasant to listen to it reminds me of something id want to hear while driving through the country in the 80s. the different instruments used in this were also really toe tickling.
the message in this album is still a little too relevant though
some of the songs were a little too… intimate for my taste? like it felt like just her and the guitar. which, musically? beautiful. but not something i would throw on. favorite tracks were 1,2 ofc, 5 & 6
i would have rated this a four if it wasn't a cover album, but i did really enjoy this. the twangy but smooth quality of his voice over these classics really made them special to listen to.
this helped me get through my calculus homework.
i dont know how i feel about this one. the story behind the album is compelling of course it’s his last work before he died and the pain he felt can be heard through the lyrics and vocals(?) but it seems like more of a personal project than anything. i’m not sure i’ll come back to it, but it was worth the initial listen.
i really enjoy how punchy this album was. not remarkable, but certainly enjoyable to listen to. the songs did kind of blend together, but i guess that's a good thing since there was nothing in here i hated..
i will always love a good billy joel song, i will always love this album, i will always think of my friend eriks when i listen to it. makes me want to move to new york. 10/10 no notes
the moaning in the first track really pissed me off so it lowered my opinion of the album as a whole. but a punk rock album is not made to make you feel comfortable, its made to shake things up-- and i believe that this album accomplished that. would i listen again? maybe not. but it was not an unenjoyable listen, just a bit of an abrasive one.
I was wondering why I liked the instrumentals so much, and then it occurred to me that it was because they reminded me of radiohead. like a lot. a little too much. but the album itself was a pleasant listen that didn't really allow me to form too many opinions about it. i liked the vocals, didn't really listen to the lyrics, because again, radiohead. but it was a kind of... subdued album. would want to listen to this in the rain.
hahaha 67. a shake and shimmy and bop around kind of album with a rock ebb and flow. although not all of the songs are exactly my cup of tea, i would say i’m a fan overall. wish i could rate this a 3.5
really great initial impression but i think it got a little old a little too fast for me. still good music but i may just not be in the right mood for it. some tracks i really enjoyed on here though! super unique vocal tone and some pretty great guitar, ill definitely give the later tracks in the album another try when im not in the office.

i had a lot of fun with this one! i love the dead was the only one that took this album down a peg for me. i've never actually listened to alice cooper before so i didn't know what to expect, but i'm pleasantly surprised. maybe my rock bias is showing but i'd rate this a solid 4/5.
what must a woman do para joderse para follarse... are we so deadass??????? this fried me so bad. overall: fun, upbeat, i liked the french version better because i didn't know what was being said. also a bit of a jarring listen after the alice cooper record, and-- why is it so long??? 1.5 hours of on the nose lyrics and overly intentional 80s pop styling led me to cheat and skip around a little. i think its a 2.5/5 for me, not great but a fun listen to turn my brain off to.
I like beck, good head banging album, but not particularly special to me. Not to say I didn't like it!! I liked it!! Just not a standout imo
i've never had very strong opinions about U2. i just can't get into them and i don't really know why... i feel like they fit the profile of a band i should like but i just can't make up my mind about them, not sure why. i guess i could call this album atmospheric, but it's not quite the atmosphere i'm searching for.
i want to cook a meal while listening to this. there's something i really enjoy about the temptations and i can't quite place it, maybe its that it reminds me of sitting in the back of my dad's car growing up. either way, i liked it, my favorite songs were the funkier ones and my favorite track was the title track. fun listen.
kind of shocked by how low the reviews are on this one. i guess you have to have a trained ear to appreciate the rhythms here... there's not much overt melody and the vocals are distinctly latin. either you appreciate it or you don't, but it does really bother me when people call music slop just because its not their cup of tea. this was a really fun listen and i was dancing in my seat, truly deserves more unbiased ratings.
fun album, kept me on my toes. was not expecting to hear vocals in some of the tracks, felt far more contemporary than a '76 album. had me intrigued from the album cover who took his pants
