1001 Albums Summary

i have avoided listening to u2 for 32 years and resent that i finally have listened to a whole album. oh fun a date rape song. overall this is very mid shey la la i forgot that bono makes me irrationally angry just for existing

so it turns out that all the oasis songs are on this album. i am conflicted because i do actually like the songs and think they’re good musically etc but my god i can’t stand when he gets nasally/whiny. also if oasis has 0 haters i am dead so i cannot rate higher than this.

very 90s grunge. can’t figure out if i’ve heard some of these songs before or if they’re just very similar to others of the genre. i think this is too edgy for me oh ok i have definitely heard stupid girl before. overall this is fine. (also lol at my moment of panic when the version i started listening to was over 5 hours long)

fun fact: the kinks are probably my favourite band. although clearly i’m a fake fan because i haven’t listened to this album before. i don’t think this is my favourite by them, but it’s still a great album - esp because this is the album with sunny afternoon

oui oui parle le français avec moi didn’t enjoy just being spoken to in the first track but the rest is fun. oh no wait i also do not enjoy those noises on en melody. overall surprisingly enjoyable for an album about fucking a 14/15 year old girl who then dies in a plane crash. ahhh, the 70s.
