I liked a lot of the songs but a lot of the lyrics brought me in and out of the songs. Specifically Walk On the Wild Side. Goodnight Ladies sucked - did not like that song at all. Easy to listen to, not too harsh on the brain. Lou was an interesting character.
the vocals got so dreadful after a while. loved johnny marr's guitar playing. i would have loved this if i listened when i was younger. i think the guitar playing would have changed my life. it's incredible. but this album drones for me. the lyrics are also not as amazing and poetic as everyone says. i agree meat is murder though
second song is a damn masterpiece. album is great. beats are awesome. voices are unique. loved it a lot. so much better than the albums (the smiths and lou reed- boring) i've listened to so far. glad i listened to this. hole in your head! in your mother fuckin' head! so damn sick.
better than i expected. guitar tone is great. some songs are very creative. some dumb and annoying. good enough album but it should have ended 9 songs in. definitely didn't need to be that long and definitely didn't need to hear this before i die.
It sure is Jimmy Morrison doin' the sing sing thang
bliss
why do i need to hear this before my demise?? it was fun and groovy tho
I'm sorry I do not get it I hate it actually - would rather listen to authentic African music than this weird shit. i fucking can't stand this at all. holy fuck.
The lyrics are dog shit. Misogynistic dog shit. I'm good, dude. I feel evil listening to this - there's some evil ass energy here. Some of the music was absolutely very cool and some of it was fucking chaotic and stupid. The production is wonderful but I wish it was just an instrumental album honestly lmao. I won't talk about him as a person - we all know. So many bad people are fans of Kanye as well. He draws in bad, evil energy and I can feel it when I listen to the music he made passed 2008. No way. Hold My Liquor was the worst song I've heard in weeks or even years?? Blood On The Leaves ??? holy fuck can a song be more excruciating then this? Poor Billie Holiday - she didn't deserve that. fuck this album it's bad! it's not good. One of the worst albums I've heard on this list so far. Sack of shit. 2 stars for the instrumentals only.
A masterpiece through and through from a masterful band. guitar work is unreal. Siouxsie's voice is unreal. I love this album and always will. It is a piece of music I will cherish forever. Happy to listen to it in full again as it's been a very long while. Some albums on this list piss me off - but I am truly glad this one was here. I had to listen to Yeezus right before this and wanted to rip my skin off. Now, I feel very happy and my skin does too.
Not a bad album at all. beautiful opening track and beautiful production and instrumentation throughout the entire thing. Amazing voice. I think it's slow atmosphere and songs got a bit boring and hard to listen to after a while but it is a beautiful album, no doubt about that
….??? I have nothing to say but I fucking love this. Unique and weird and ugly and smelly and gross. Had such a good time listening. This is music definitely for white people with dreads so I'm quite shocked at how much this punched me in the face. I never thought I’d be a Ministry fan - though, I have only really heard a couple songs in my life. Really and truly didn't think I'd like this as much as I did. This is really fucking fun. I feel like rolling down a enormous muddy hill up to hell to ask God some questions. People who hate this are hilariously boring.
Paper Planes is a masterpiece and she duped everyone into thinking she was good at music
For some reason Black Sabbath's ballads are not my thing. Changes never moves me and i've never really liked that song but the rest of the album is very great.
this will be the 201 millionth time i've listened to this probably but this album means a lot to my life and I know it like the back of my hand
masterpiece
nothing compares
miss you elliott
Didn't expect to like this as much as I did. Really great songwriting. Soft but not dragging or sleepy. Just perfectly soft and pleasant. I had a sweet and comforting time hearing this. Plush
so fucking boring. I will say I liked the singers voice a lot but hoooly crap rock and roll can be so fucking stale man. is it so much to ask to write a catchy song??? something that fucking HITS you immediately and feels soulful and meaningful? Not everyone needs to make music and release it. I always say music nowadays is crap but the 90's had serious fucking duds. once again, i didn't need to hear this before I die - nothing music. Rather would listen to some teenage fanclub - they do this kind of music perfectly. This will be forgotten by me in about 2 days. Don't remember a single melody.
The poetry was beautiful. Idk if I cared for the music or songs as much. Love Leonard abundantly - brilliant poet and songwriter. This one, as heartbreaking as it is, doesn’t catch me as his other works do. Title track is absolutely life altering, though. Listening to Leonard Cohen makes me want to live as long as I possibly can on this hell rock just to keep experiencing the greatest feeling of love over and over and over again. Although this album doesn’t hit me like his other works, I’ll never deny the precious and delicate genius this man had.
A mediocre palate cleanser for the next shitty fuckass album this list makes me listen to
the lyrics were a bit rancid at times (and i don't mean the band Rancid; i mean that the lyrics were smelly and gross) but the music was good and it was easy to listen to - nice guitar tones and if i didn't have a bunk knee i would have been dancing
Wonderful album. Won't lie, at the beginning of it I was thinking "oh I'm gonna fucking hate this I know it" but I proved me wrong. I had a very nice time with this. Crept up on me forreal. If I still drank wine, this record would be drunkenly danced to 10 times a day.
candy says even existing as a song floors me
Classic, of course. There are much more iconic punk albums from this time that are better but I do get why this is here. It was good to listen to this again.
yeah, honestly younger me was onto something - this was my favorite album many years ago but i hadn't listened in forever. Still love it. Still dear to my heart. never expected to see this on this list. happy it's here.
fuck!!!!! i thought i was gonna hate it but it was too good. the way the drums are mixed, the guitar solos, everything. i loved it so much. lyrics were kind of weak but my god are these songs beautiful. Sucks that such terrible men made this. Seriously what an outright shame. I wish men were better.
I'd give it a 3 since it is an important album for rocknroll muzak but i didn't like this very much at all and i'd probably never come back to it. Just covering Black music for the public to be like "Oh joy! those clear boys are doin' it so i don't gotta guiltily listening to the Blacks do it anymore!" It's bland and gimmicky. cheap and trashy!!!!!!!! can't wait to hear a better Beatles album on here - i do really like them but this smells
absolutely incredible. perfect album. so funny. so entertaining the entire time. I'm so happy to listen to this. I think this is one of the best albums of all time.
What?
A Forest is maybe one of the best songs I’ve ever heard. So for that alone, this album deserves all of its flowers. Absolutely incredible guitar work. Incredible and distinct vocals. Their live performance of this song in 1992 is perfection. Look it up if you’re interested. This album gets a 5 from me. Just want to sink into it like a cloud.
Fuck no
fuck you
fuck this
I feel like I’m back in fucking church! this is giving me fucking flashbacks to kneeling on a fucking pew and singing psalms with creepy Catholic men! why the fuck IS THIS ON HERE
FUCK NO
Like someone said, the musicianship and instrumentation can be commended while the whole album is still unlistenable.
Honestly, not as good as i remember it to be. Fear is a much better album as a whole. I’m sorry 2 John, I do love him and think he is brilliant but it didn’t hit for me like it used to.
some of the songs sounded like jack black singing in school of rock which is why i liked it
corporate fungus! i only listened to two songs! first album i refused to listen to all the way! i am allergic to the black keys!
it took me 20 years to get through the title track for some reason - although i've listened to it before, it felt more grating to get through this time around. I still had a good time. I need to be in the proper headspace for this one I think. Still very calming. Beautiful soundscapes.
I feel like being the perfect amount of wine drunk in a plane; trying to find even an ounce of comfort being dangerously in the sky for hours drifting in and out of sleep is where I’d want to be hearing this for the first time.
I really enjoyed this. Nostalgic and uplifting. Never heard any of the other songs besides the hits. It was a cute and fun listen. The energy was warm; and made me really miss these times. I miss being carefree and listening to sweet indie music like this smoking weed with my pals. Left me in a good mood. Simple & to the point. The only thing was that it felt very very safe at points but I didn't mind it as much as I usually do. Safe music is good for the emotional regulation sometimes, you know? It's good for the body to just hang out and be. It just got a bit boring-ish towards the end. Filler songs and that. Anyway, thanks Karen O for the tunes. (just because I gave it a 3 doesn't mean I didn't enjoy this - a 4 is just a little too high for me to justify)
loved it, nothing bad to say. I will say I got a bit exhausted towards the end but i did love it.
Makes me feel like I'm dying and not in a good way. flow sucks. beats are alright sometimes. It was a holy fucking shit god damn fucking chore to get through this. I'd rather wash my dishes in silence and clean a shitty toilet than listen to this. After "The Animist" came on I actually felt like I was going to scream. What a headache.
