It’s was alright the instrumental all sounded really similar to me and I think it may have been the same on the songs I don’t wanna go down to the basement and loud mouth but it was still not bad. All the songs were under three minutes I think so it’s a quick 29 minute album that isn’t too bad. (Also almost every song started with the drummer shouting 1234) my top three from the album are Blitzkrieg Bop, Havana Affair (which is a song the chili peppers have covered) and I don’t wanna go down to the basement
Much much slower paced than the previous album obviously but it wasn’t too bad, 20 songs to make up an hour and fourteen minutes is alright, some of the songs I felt may have dragged on slightly but other than that not too bad I thought the guitar was quite good in some songs. My top three are Over and Over, Sara and Sisters of the Moon
So all the songs were obviously quite long but I’ll you what it was straight heat for a good portion of it. I can see why Miles Davis is so loved. Top three: Freddie Freeloader, All Blue and So What
Okay so Talking Book is an amazing album that was really really great to listen to. It’s R&B/Soul and honestly for like my first time listening to the genre I am really impressed. I may find it a little hard to pick a top three but I think I’ll go Maybe Your Baby, Superstition and finally Blame it On the Sun.
Okay so C’est Chic was a bit of an odd album. I can see why it’s genre is dance and I did actually know one of the songs (Le Freak) but other than that I didn’t really know what I was getting into. A couple of the songs were just a bit weird including the last song which was just people laughing with music playing (fittingly titled (Funny) Bone. Overall it was okay, a bit odd at times. Top three: Le Freak, Savior Faire and Sometimes You Win
Not that good. I don’t really like the way he sings and instrumental is meh. Top 3: Walk On, Ambulance Blues, Motion Pictures (For Carrie)
Okay so I left this one really late but superfuzz bigmuff by mudhoney was pretty good. It has two versions one with six songs an another with 14 and I listened to the one with six tracks since I’m short on time. It was quite good and can definitely hear how this music influenced nirvana. Overall quite good. Top three: Need, In ‘N’ Out of Grace and Mudride
Just finished The Blueprint by Jay-Z and it was pretty good. I liked most of the songs and of course much different to my usual music so it was a nice change to listen to. Top three: Izzo (H.O.V.A), Blueprint (Momma Loves Me) and Takeover
So Yeezus by Kanye West wasn’t reallyyy my thing but there were a couple alright songs there. This guy really loves his bass because it is super prominent. It’s was okay, mostly just a bit meh and I hope if he comes up again it’s a bit better because if I’m honest I had higher expectations. Top three: On Sight, Bound 2, Hold My Liquor
Abraxas by Santana was pretty good. I liked the guitar and most of the instrumental to be honest I thought it was a lot stronger than the vocals. Overall not a bad album. Top three: Hope You’re Feeling Better, Black Magic Woman / Gypsy Queen, Oye Como Va
The Next Day by David Bowie is an absolutely incredible album. I liked every single song and everything about it was just awesome. 5 stars out of 5. Top 3: The Next Day, Love is Lost, If You Can See Me
It was a bit of an odd album to be honest I wasn’t too fond of it it had a couple of alright songs but honestly I wasn’t too into it. Top three: Ballad of Big Nothing, Cupid’s Trick, Rose Parade
Metallica by Metallica is a good album. I liked a lot of the album quite a bit, I think it may be another 5 star. The instrumental was heavy but nice and i like the lead singers voice. You know the album is going to be good when it starts with a song as strong as Enter Sandman. Top three: Enter Sandman, Sad But True, Nothing Else Matters
Harvest was definitely a better album than On the Beach and by quite a bit too. I think all the songs were a big step up and just better made. Top three: A Man Needs a Maid, Out on the Weekend, Alabama
