Fave Tracks: Africano, Shining Star, Reasons

Don't think I've ever been much for new wave or post-punk like JD. As much as I want to like it, it's a bit grating after awhile. Especially Curtis's vocals. Up until the last track though, where he reminds me a little of D. Boon from the Minutemen. So that left me a bit uplifted, for whatever that's worth. In the moment, I could probably have named more stand out tracks, but listening to it back to point out my faves, they all blend together. Overall, I liked it I think, but I don't know if it's really something I'd need to listen to more than once in my life. Glad to have experienced it after having written it off for so long because of the fanbase surrounding it. (Regardless of how warrented I think its 'overrated' label is) I go back and forth between wanting to say this is a 2 or 3 for me. Fave Tracks: New Dawn Fades, I Remember Nothing

Favorite Songs: Black Cow, Deacons Blues, Aja, Peg

Not a Billy Joel fan, but I can't deny it's a classic. Fave Songs: Anthony's Song, Scenes from an Italian Restaurant, Just the Way You Are, Vienna, Only The Good Die Young

First impression upon seeing this album up next today: "Ugh" I feel like when I was younger it was sacrilege to talk shit on the "classics", but I'm glad that's either not really the case anymore, or I'm so far out of those circles now. Van Halen is ass. Like... The last time I enjoyed hearing Jump was when I was probably 7?? I can't even imagine listening to that shit as an adult. Or I guess I can. Cause I just did. Fond memories of me and my sister staying up all night trying to clear Hot for Teacher in Guitar Hero though. We never got it, but damn it was fun.

Do you think medieval bards actually sounded like simon and garfunkle? Fave Tracks: Patterns, The Dangling Coversations, A Simple Delsultory Philippic

I don't know man, I think I could die just fine having not heard this. The compositions are beautiful I suppose, but feel so generic. And these are some of the worst lyrics I've heard. Not sure why this was chose over something like Skylarking. Or maybe it's also on the list, I don't know, but this is unnessesary. I liked The Last Balloon. And maybe Greenman. Maybe.
