Baltimore-Washington Airport terminal
I am waiting for my flight back to Detroit after Maddie Purdy’s first communion, and sitting in a cafe, listening to Neil Young and Crazy Horse’s 1969 album *Everybody Knows This is Nowhere*.
This album is both eternal and futuristic.
I was lucky to see Neil Young with Crazy Horse two years ago. They played “Down by the River” and “Cinnamon Girl”.
This is an incredible album. It sounds fantastic in all the ways Neil Young is fantastic.
An amazing album, with some truly transcendent tracks.
Shelter from the storm is in the conversation for the greatest song ever.
But a couple clunkers (Jack of Hearts, Big Girl) bring it down a notch.
I’d do 4.5 if possible.

This album has some great tracks, and clearly reveals a band with high energy. They must have been wild to see live in this early era.

Brian Eno does industrial.
Some intense emotions that I might have felt from the ages of 15-22.
The second half is much stronger.

Low fi in every way. Minimalist to the extreme.
Several memorable songs. No real clunkers.
Saturday, 9 May, 2026
Great production. Silky smooth tunes.
She sounds like a lounge singer.
“Constant Craving” was a hit for a reason!
The rest is good.

Not one track stood out above the rest.
The most interesting part was the end of the last track.
Other QotSA albums are more interesting. Them Crooked Vultures is also more interesting.
Monday, 11/5/26
Memphis soul in full force.
Amazing vocal performances and the backing band is stellar. Hi Rhythm band directed/produced by Willie Mitchell is on point.
The title track is what everyone obviously remembers, but track two, “La La for You” is the standout.

Screaming Trees have perfected the classic Seattle grunge sound into a melodic dulcet tone.
And as the swan song to the true grunge era, this album is in the par example category.

This was an amazing meander through the minds of three young men who have a hilarious sense of humor and corrupt politics.
Thursday, 14 May, 2026
Genre defining. Rips your face off from the first note and Axl gutter scream (“Oh my god!”).
What an album.

Pistons win game 6!
This album, which has been the soundtrack to many of my drives up north, is in the pantheon of great rock albums.
The opener, “Cherub Rock”, will knock your socks off, and Billy Corgan doesn’t let up.

Great album. Knopfler is in true form as a master band leader. Side one is full of songs you’ve heard 1,000 times, but side two is great!

Rick Nielsen and Bun E. Carlos push this record into upper echelons.
Screaming Japanese girls brings it down a bit.
Some legendary recordings.
Monday, 18 May, 2026
The hits are amazing: “Do It Again,” “Dorty work”, and “Reeling in the years”.
Otherwise, well produced.
Tuesday, 19 May, 2026
Amazing voices.
Nile’s Rogers’ production and direction of Chic as backing band is great.
That Philly Sound!
Wednesday, 20 May, 2026
This album is garbage.
If it were just instrumentation and samples of Tarantino movies, it’d be higher.
Rap/Rock is a grotesque genre, and is basically anti music.
Thursday, 21 May, 2026
Chris Squire on the bass carries this album.
Howe gets the attention, and Wakeman is great on the keys, but it is the rhythm section of Squire and Bruford.
Friday, 22 May, 2026
The hits are great!
The rest is…eh?
Saturday, 23 May, 2026
I’m actually offended by the inclusion of this album.
It makes me question this entire project.
This album is absolutely not one any human should ever listen to.
If I could give it. What I’ve stars, I would.
Sunday, 24 May, 2026
Solid album. I’d listen again. But it didn’t blow me away.
Better albums in the same genre.

Memorial Day
Amazing album. Radiohead re define themselves yet again. The release of this album is also revolutionary.
I’ve listened to this album probably 20 times before and I still heard new things.
Tuesday, 26 May, 2026
In between their two magnum opuses (Dark Side… and The Wall) Pink Floyd release a masterpiece.
Wednesday, 27 May, 2026
Killer beats and slick rhymes!
You can’t go wrong with Missy Elliott and Timbaland.
A sound that worked to define the era.
Thursday, 28 May, 2026
Interesting. Good atmosphere. Very Britain, late 90s.
I’d listen again.
Friday. May 29, 2026
Legendary album. Every song hits the right vibe.
Saturday, 30 May, 2026
Stevie Wonder begins his epic run. Innervisions has moments of brilliance.
Sunday, 31 May, 2026
Great Sunday album. Excellent vibes.
What is she saying?
Monday, 1 June 2026
Guitars, bars, babes, and beards.
Classic album. Sounds great.
“It still kicks!”
Tuesday, 2 June, 2026
Resurgence for Dylan.
Some amazing songs on this record.
Wednesday, 3 June, 2026
Eh.
