Don't love it, don't hate it. I can see what they were going for but it's not for me. Made me sleepy.
Super solid early 70s prog rock album. Roundabout absolutely rips. The rest of the album is good but doesn't quite live up to the opener.
Don't love U2 but this is their best album. I do enjoy a few of the songs.
While I can understand while some people might not like Bob, I love him. And this is my favorite album of his. It rocks. Deal with it, Clara.
I've always been pretty indifferent on ZZ Top. Didn't actively dislike the album, just was pretty meh.
Struggled between 4 and 5 but screw it, 5. This is probably my favorite 60s psychedelic rock album and Somebody to Love and White Rabbit are all time bangers. Both probably in my top 20 songs of all time. Probably a couple songs that are unnecessary but ultimately an incredible album.
The Fuckin' Band. Enough said. Music From Big Pink is typically considered their best album but I think this one is my favorite.
Je n'ai pas aimé. Felt repetitive and a bit boring. Not for me!
There are hints of what the Stones will become here but their first album is pretty mediocre. It's mostly covers too so rather uninteresting.
Santana rips and this album rips. Tempted to give it a 5 but I've given too many. 4.5
Ray is always great though this isn't my favorite album of his
Wow, that was genuinely awful. Apart from the obnoxious rapping, the production was bad too - the beats were pretty much all grating, repetitive, and boring. Really struggled to make it through this one, each song felt like it was twice as long as it actually was.
I could also not stop thinking about this the whole time (which is at least funny-bad, not just bad-bad): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3jlviX88iw
Haven't had a ton of exposure to this type of music but I was locked in from the first song. Big fan!
Love Ray though I'm not sure if he knows what Country and Western music is.
A part of me wants to rate this lower because of the amount of fluff. There are some all time bangers buts it's too long. If you think of it as two solo albums put together into one, however, it holds up.
Went back and forth between 3 and 4 for this one. I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed it quite a bit for an album/artist that I've never heard of. That being said none of the songs really stood out enough to me to be a huge fan of it.
Banger, I hardly know her. Marvin Gaye always hits.
I once saw a quote that said something along the lines of "Punk is the only type of music that doesn't require you to know how to play your instrument", and I don't think I've ever listened to an album where that is more true (and that is coming from someone that actually really enjoys punk).
There were a couple songs I genuinely liked, but there were more songs that were genuinely hard to listen to. Interestingly enough, looking at the Wikipedia page, all 3 members of the band wrote songs on the album and all the songs I liked were written by the same person. I think he should leave and start a new band.
I've listened to this album so many times trying to get myself to like it and I just don't. On paper I should love it. I don't know what it is - maybe I just don't like Nico? I'm a big fan of Velvet Underground's other albums without her. Other than Sunday Morning, the rest feels pretty mid.
I thought I would like this more since I'm a fan of the Stooges. It ended up just sounding like watered down Bowie, which makes sense since Bowie wrote for and played on this album. Not bad but didn't grab me.
Some of the butt-rockiest butt rock to ever butt rock but you know how much I love some butt rock.
Dr. John makes some weird music but it also completely pulls you in when you listen. Not something I necessarily want to throw on every day but I really enjoy it.
It was fine. 2.5. I didn't actively dislike it but it just wasn't exciting and sounded like so many other artists from this era.
I love Paul Simon but I don't love this album. It's good but not great. Probably like a 3.5
I enjoyed it but it also didn't jump out as anything super special to me.
Take on Me is an undeniable banger, but turns out there's a reason you don't know any of their other songs.
Enjoyed the album but didn't love it. Only song I've heard on this album was Coconut for some reason.
Solid album and a great final album by Bowie. Not my favorite of his but given the circumstances it's great.
Honestly went into it expecting not to like it much but was pleasantly surprised. A surprising amount of range.
Incredible Album. Joni is my queen.
Gotta love Aretha. In my opinion one of, if not the best vocalist to do it. Tempted to give it a 5, but a couple too many filler-ish songs to hit that. Some crazy bangers on this album though.
Wow did not expect the hate on this album. I've never heard of this band before but really dug the whole album. Felt interesting and unique and I enjoyed listening to the whole thing. Tempted to give a 4 but maybe closer to a 3.5.
Pretty good! Not as good as Wu-Tang, but I enjoyed it.
I see my boys Paul and Art and I am happy. This is definitely one of my less favorite albums of there's but it's still great.
I've never felt strongly either way about Coldplay. I do really like a few of their songs, but never really gotten too in to them. I've also never listened to one of their albums all the way through before and doing so made me realize how much all their songs sound the same. that being said, Yellow is a banger.
Didn't hate it, but didn't really do it for me.
Absolute ripper of an album. War Pigs into Paranoid might be one of the best album intros of all time.
Great sampling, cool album
Huge fan of this album. Time to Pretend, Kids, and Electric feel are all incredible songs. While I enjoy the album front to back, the rest of the songs are just a bit too filler-y to be a true 5. Easy 4.5 though.
Man I love the Beach Boys. The production and mixing of vocal harmonies is unmatched. This isn't my favorite album of theirs, but it still hits. I think this is the album where you can really start to hear the next level of Brian's production take off which later culminates in Pet Sounds.
Absolute ripper of an album and Layla may be one of the best songs of all time. People should keep an eye on this Clapton guy, he may be big.
One of the best albums by the greatest band of all time. Even if you don't love the Beatles, you can't deny that they're probably the most influential band of all time. That being said, I love them. This is a really cool album in my opinion because it comes right at the intersection of their early touring era (Please Please Me through Rubber Soul) and their later more experimental studio era (Sgt Pepper on). I believe this is also when they started to experiment with acid, so you see the beginning of the psychedelic influence, which is cool. So long story short, I love this album. 5/5
