Great follow up album to Nebraska! Bruce is a true American artist. This is in my 25 LPs.
Another album that takes me back to late 70’s mid-80’s and the start of New Wave. A new era for R&R. I still enjoy this LP.
Okay…I totally missed out on this album and really enjoyed it. It’s keeper, it’s a rocker, and what was I thinking! From the opener Search and Destroy to ending of Death Trip this album lives up to it’s title of Raw Power and kept me Rockin’ all the through. This album must have opened the doors from many other bands to step through in the mid-70’s 80’s and 90’s. From Punk to Grunge.
From Vedder’s unique vocals and guitar riffs they just don’t stop. This is a great debut album and it’s one that I totally enjoyed.
What an iconic piece of American music! Crank it up and let your youthful rebellious soul free! Listening to this album took me back to place and time when I thought what a great time to be alive. The Boss’s voice is driving the lyrics, Little Steven guitar gives the music life and band makes it ROCK! Another great album that earned a place at the table that feeds my soul.
Good rock n’ roll. This album is not at the top of my list for AC/DC and not one I would seek out.
The album is what I expected from 1965. Three really great hits and the remainder were typical of the era. The album did reveal some idea of what was to come from the band. All-in-all I enjoyed giving it a listen. I had not listened to the album before.
Great recording! Southern Rock at its best. Duane Allman showed the world what slide guitar is all about. One of the best jam live albums of its era. Greg Allman’s vocal's was a good mix of rock and blues.
Typical of this era of rock n’ roll with a mix of covers and original tracks. From my perspective not a stand out album, but I was 7 at the time of the release. The album did show signs of things to come. I enjoyed listening to it.
I’m not a huge hip-hop fan. However, I did enjoy listening to the album more than I thought.
Boring. I found this album boring and like watching paint dry.
Great album by a rocker, song writer.
Well...Hip-Hop/Rap is not my usual genre... I have learned to have an open mind and expand beyond my first impressions. So far this has been a fun journey in music and culture.
Great live concert recording by a legendary blues guitarist and performer.
I enjoyed this album. It had me thinking this were psychedelic met big band. It is so late 60’s.
Good example of mid-70’s rock n’roll. Very good debut album. Great guitar refs and use of distortion pedals, driving bass and drum beats.
Enjoyed listening to this music! The rhythms had some many textures…relaxing to inspired movements. Great find!
Listening to this album helped me understand that once every now then someone comes along that is just an entertainer. James Brown is a legend and this album from 1962 puts his talents on showcase. I will look to add this treasure to my vinyl collection.
What great rainy day album to hear on a rainy day! Who knew? This album has made it to my purchase list of vinyl to look for. I enjoyed raw sound of his voice and the laidback approach to his music.
Good classic rock album from a band that I have enjoyed over the years. The one thing I find interesting from this Supertramp album is their flare the theatrical and whimsical sound. At times I envision I watching a play or at circus.
WOW…I love listening to a new band (to me) and totally digging their sound, songs and album. Great discovery for me with this band and album. This album hit mark of 1001 albums to listen to!
Pleasant easy listening music! I enjoyed this album.
I really liked tracks 1, 2 & 6. The rest were pretty much what I expected.
I find this an interesting album, it’s like a cross between Gilmour and Dylan. Overall the album doesn’t have a lot of energy, but it is pleasant to listen to…if you’re in a mellow mood.
WOW…this album takes me way back! I remember roller skating to these songs in the 70’ when I was a preteen. Fun times! Great music and fun lyrics mixed in as well.
This selection is blah…one I really don’t an have opinion one way or another. Totally just background music.
I am not big on most live albums of this era. The sound is too airy for my liking. I do believe this album took Cheap Trick to their next level in their career and increased their fan base. The live performance of I Want You To Want Me was a game changer.
The Rolling Stones have released so many albums over the years…this is one of their best. The song selection is so diverse…blues, rock and their signature songs. If you’re new to the Stones this album is a great place to start. (How could you be?) 🙂
The title of this album says it all about you need to know it about. Aerosmith shows you who they are…good old Rock n’ Roll band from America. Lyrics with sexual undertones and references, hard driving guitar, bass and drums. Singing on the verge of screaming. Some fine Rock n’ Roll.
This album helped to deliver a new era for Rock/New Wave music. The hit single Hungry Like the Wolf is a great tune. Hold Back the Rain is a great example of the band’s willingness to experiment with different sounds. I enjoyed this album back when it released and I still enjoy it today. This era of music also helped marshal in a new era for music…videos…and MTV!
Good album. I enjoyed listening. 2nd time through with headphones and WOW…I missed a lot of the lyrics! I enjoyed it more the 2nd time through.
What a fantastic album. You can hear this man’s influence through out American music in the decades to follow. Prince? Funk, Soul, R&B, Disco. Rhythmic beats, funky bass, soulful guitar and vocals. The use of the wah-wah pedal guitar is classic and blend in some saxophone…love it. It got me moving and I didn’t even notice it, the music moved me.
An iconic album from an iconic band. This is a must have for any collector of Rock n’ Roll music. I listened to this album in the early 70’s and was the first album I purchased. Listened to the HD Remastered Edition time this morning and loved it!
On another note, I relish the fact that so much of Rock n’ Roll is so deeply rooted in the Delta Blues and its origins. It is in so many ways a testament of how music represents the human spirit, soul, heart and consciousness. Music is an expression of freedom that transcends time and connects people regardless of all the other bullshit.
I had not heard of this band until today’s listening. Not bad. First time through via headphones and second time via speakers. I enjoyed the album more through speakers. I found the band had a good mix of instruments and interesting lyrics.
This album is very different than what I expected. It’s a mix of rock, metal and punk. From a listener perspective I found it interesting. First pass was with IEM’s , 2nd pass car stereo and impression didn’t change. I rate it a 2 1/2 stars. Middle of the road.
Good easy listening album. I think the album was recorded with a governor on the gas pedal… at times it seemed like they wanted to let their hair down and just ROCK.
