I knew this album already. Good, not my favorite by them but liked it

Classic

I liked this. Good mix of blues rock

It's good but like most of their albums too long

The lyrics are terrible. Some of the corniest lyrics I've ever heard, vocals are just as bad.

I really expected New Wave from the title and year. I had to keep checking that I had the same album playing because of the genre changes. This was fun to listen to

It was okay. Some decent songs but most kinda corny

I've tried with this band a few times, I just don't get it

This is good but some of these albums I don't know are "must listen" Do we really need to hear their 11th album? What about the other 10

Maybe with like 5 more listens I'll get this but for now, have to say not my thing

Boring and repetitive

A classic of Hard Rock. First half of the album is all bangers. Second half has Sweet Child and Rocket Queen. Other than those the second half is nowhere near as good as first

Few songs will join my rotation. Not bad

This is fine. Again, the list is too classic rock heavy. We don't need to hear Aerosmiths 4th album

A perfect debut

Already knew this album but forgot how good it was. Used to think Rush of Blood was far and away their best but this is almost there

Right off the bat, did not like the first song at all. Gave it a few more tracks and started to grow on me, really liked the third song. I likely won't go back to this but I didn't hate it

I often hear "this 80s band is like no other" but honestly many of these New Wave bands sound the same to me. This is a fine album. Nothing really special

I like Kendrick. Love some of his albums and maybe it's just me but this isn't his best to me. I get everyone gives it a perfect rating but it's not quite there for me

A classic. Not my favorite ELO album but you can't argue with Mister Blue Sky

This was an excellent rock/county record. I see all these terrible reviews and I don't get it. I would say a 3.5 but that's not an option

Not my thing

Just an absolute classic. The evolution of early NYC Boom Bap rapping into this laid back flow. Doing the track with Method Man just adds to it. I've struggled with the ratings system here because I've listened to 1200 albums and only like 12 of them are 10/10. I have this album as a 9 out of 10 but for here I have to give it the full 5 stars

I liked this. Very REM vibe, I'll deep dive into this band and will definitely give a few more listens

We are reviewing the album not the artist. Steven Tyler was a pedo, David Bowie, half the 80s rock stars bragged about sleeping with 16 year old girls. 4 stars for Bad

This is a classic for a reason. So many guitar players decades after this came out have covered Maggot Brain, it's a staple

It's a classic, I didn't need the love song to Stevie that was kinda cringe 😬. I knew the main rap songs going in, mostly enjoyed the rest

This is fine I guess but there were so many better rap albums that came out in 2000. For Common, I think Be is the only album they really need on this list. If we could do half stars it would be a 2.5 exactly mid.

Fine I guess? I'm not sure why we need the album of a one hit wonder. Why not Space Hog or Semisonic? The cover of Iron Man was both unnecessary and bad. Maybe a 2.5

I read the reviews on each album before I listen. This isn't my favorite, not about to become his biggest fan but it was better than I expected from the reviews. It is a little much and would be better as a 10 song album. The voice is a little grating but this doesn't sound much different than Low or Sufjan Stevens to me which are both fine. Didn't blow my mind but it's fine. 3 stars

It was okay. I've heard better jazz records

I like this album, I like CCR...that said, the problem with this list is we don't need every CCR or Aerosmith or Led Zeppelin album. I will say this is their best record so I'll give it the 4 stars it deserves but they need an updated list that isn't so classic rock heavy

Just mentioned this in my last review 😂 we've got like 5 Zeppelin albums on this list. I get this is the double album but most of it is album cuts and B sides. It's good but it isn't needed as "Must listen" LZ1, 2, 4 and Houses of the Holy are all better than this one IMO. Still good but it's a 3

First song was really good, second was good then it started to turn for me. After a few songs in I couldn't do it anymore. When rating albums I used to say "this sucks" but now I respect that although it's not MY favorite, that doesn't mean it can't be anyone's favorite. Now I say "it's nice, but it's not for me" This is nice, but it isn't for me. I'll give it a 2 because I did like a few tracks

I know it's often hated because that's cool to do but come on.

These aren't songs they are tracks and all of these tracks suck ass. I'm all for experimental but this is just a waste of time. This is the kind of crap that pretentious people say "this is genius!" . It's not. It's really, really, really not good. I don't think they'll let you do 0 stars here so I guess it gets 1

This is a David Bowie album, why we need another one I'm unsure.

Such an important album, years ahead of it's time. Growing up, I thought this was a 90s band. I was blown away when I found out these songs were from the early 80s.

I'm mostly okay with 80s pop but this is eh. A few songs I could do back to when the mood strikes but likely won't go back to this one

This is not most listen before you die. 2 stars

An absolute classic album. I believe it's still the best selling independent album of all time and for good reason. From the opening track until the end, nothing but bangers. 5 stars

One of the greatest debit albums of all time

This is fine. I never understood the hype around The Velvet Underground but I also didn't grow up in that time. I was a teenager of the 90s and now I hear all these people say how Nirvana isn't really that good and they are overrated. They don't get it. Just like I'll never understand what VU meant back then so when you listen now in 2026 you think "I've heard other bands do this better" you've only heard other bands do it at all because VU did it first. I respect what they did but it doesn't do much for me personally.

I've heard a few of these before, it's an obvious Alex Turner project came out the year before Humbug. I always have an issue when people's side projects just sound like their band. Coming off of Favourite Worst Nightmare this was a little different but sounds a lot like what we'd get soon from The Arctic Monkeys. It's fine, not essential but not bad.

I've had a few jazz albums on here, this was okay. It was good background noise but nothing that blew me away

I've never really gotten into Oasis despite being the right age to get into them. 1994 I was 14, my first year of highschool. Such an incredible year musically; Superunknown, The Downward Spiral, Vitalogy, Weezer, Dookie, Smash, Illmatic...the list goes on. I never gave Oasis a chance. I've heard the singles of course. This was better than I expected it to be but still derivative in places. I listen in one earbud while getting ready for work in the morning. At times I went through two or three songs and didn't even notice the song changed. It's fine for what it is. I would go like 3.5 if I could. I think I'll round up and do the 4 stars here, parts of it did really make me pause and listen more closely.

I love this album. First time I ever heard it I was blown away from the start. To me, this is their best album, better than Joshua Tree. The singles are all great, the deep cuts are just as good.

Despite loving metal and including bands like Lamb of God, Slayer, Botch..I never really got into Pantera. I respect the inspiration, I know how important this album is to modern Metal. Obviously, you have the most iconic metal riff on here. You hear what inspired Sevendust, Lamb of God and countless others. I'm happy I got a reason to revisit this because a few years ago this would be a 2 for me, I had tried to get into Pantera in the past and just couldn't. Now, I actually loved this. I would say 3.5 stars with room for growth but I'll round up to 4

I've had a great week with random album draws. This is one of my favorite Maiden albums, it's one of their best definitely but they have much better. I'm kinda leaning more towards 4 stars for this one

This is a piece of New Jack Swing history, a bombastic album. It doesn't hold up as well as other classics like Don't Be Cruel but still great.

Does anyone remember the How I Met Your Mother with Robin Sparkles? The crew found out when she was 16ish Robin was a teen pop star in Canada. They are watching the music video and Ted says "Wait, if this is the mid 90s why does it look like 1986?" Robin says "the 80s didn't hit Canada until 1993" Well, I guess the 80s didn't hit France until 2018. Crazy that something so new sounds so dated. It's not awful but it's not that good. It's Vanilla. Been there, done that. Not breaking any ground while other pop stars in 2018 were reaching new places. Meh. Good enough to give a 2.5 but I'll round down this time. 2 stars

I hate these extended albums that Spotify gives you, it makes it hard to judge the album as the artist intended and how this list was built. Whenever I see Disc 1/Disc 2 on Spotify I check Wikipedia for the original album track listing and create a playlist to match it. Maybe that's too much work but here we are Even with cutting it down this is still pretty bloated. There's about 10 very good tracks that would make an excellent album on their own. There's only one perfect double album and it's The Wall, every other one is half filler. I said what I said. 3 stars

Never really listened to this band before but as I get more into prog I knew I'd have to eventually. I liked it, I'm sure it'll grow on me more with more listens but no issues here

Nothing to do with the album but man I'm tired of these extended albums on Spotify. The real album is only 36 min but they give us this 80 min playlist and it happens all the time. I have to look the albums up and create a playlist with what the real album was. All these bonus tracks and demos. Ugh. Just give us the original album as it was intended!! As for this album, definitely different feel than most punk. Kind of ska, kind of bluesey. Has a Social Distortion feel. Solid 3 stars

Not my go to but I really liked this. It was really good road trip music

Crazy this band from Boston, Mass would be a big influence on the most influencial grunge band across the country. Sometimes albums are classic for a reason

Another kinda mid album, I'd consider it more revolutionary if it didn't sound exactly like The Saints who I got two days ago.

Nothing the blew me away. I'm not the biggest punk fan, every song sounds the same to me.

Totally pleasant surprise. Never heard of this band but I spent the day checking them out. Vibes of The Black Keys, King Gizzard, Phish... everything. Really liked it

Good album but my least listened to Led Zeppelin. I like Houses of the Holy more, and III is my lowest ranked of the first four. Still Zep and still good but this one is a 3 for me

This album is all over the place. It opens with a bizarre theatrical piece, jumps into one of the greatest pop songs ever written ("Solsbury Hill"), follows it with another strong rocker, and then suddenly veers into barbershop. 😅 The good songs are genuinely excellent, but the sequencing makes the album feel more like a showcase of Peter Gabriel's different musical personalities than a cohesive listening experience. The experimental moments aren't bad—they're just so stylistically different that they pull me out of the flow rather than drawing me deeper into the album. Overall, enjoyed this and I'll likely go back to try again

Many of these albums are classic, we owe so much to The Ramones and Blitzkrieg Bop is an absolute banger. I love taking 50s rock and playing it faster. It was a killer idea and set forth a new musical revolution. There's a few standouts but a lot of the songs just sound the same. I have this on vinyl but it's not one I go back to often.

Another decent jazz album. I don't have much to say about this one, its decent enough background music

One of the best debut of all time, the political fury of punk and rap put together with funk added in. The formula is simple the results are amazing.

I'm not sure why I see so many 1 star reviews on this one. I loved this, it was experimental and accessible at the same time. It reminded me of one of my favorite hip hop albums, Phrenology by The Roots. It's musical and weird but still with a good groove. On more listens this may rise to 5 stars

Meh. I love singer/songwriter and I know this album is considered the gold standard but it's just okay for me. I'll take any Neil Young album over this. Fire and Rain is a standout tho

Reading the reviews on here there's a lot of pretentiousness going on. Now this isn't a masterpiece by any means but it is what it's supposed to be. I will say that song TV Dinners is insanely bad. That song gets a 1/10. The rest of the album is just fun. The first three tracks are killer, absolutely 80s radio gems. There is a dropoff. The rest of the album is fine but I think ZZ Top is exactly what I thought they were...a radio hits band. 3 stars

Well, it's not punk I guess. The last few albums I've gotten have been rough, could really use a better one for tomorrow. I tried to like this and I think it's interesting but I'll never go back to this most likely. 3

I've been getting so many bad to mid albums in a row I was really about to give up on this challenge. Finally getting a banger. Picking up where Master left off, the guys in Metallica now without Cliff tried to carry on. This would be their final album where they're able to carry the progressive thrash sound that Cliff Burton really brought to the band. Cliff was the musical heartbeat of Metallica and it shows. Not as good as MOP but just a step below. 4 stars

Going to be controversial but I like this album more than In Rainbows. I rank this as my 3rd favorite Radiohead album with OK COMPUTER and The Bends being 1 and 2 respectively. This is still a 4 star album.

I think I've listened to this before years ago. I'm not the biggest punk fan, I'm very picky what punk I'll listen to because it's too samey. This was not that. I don't see myself going back to it but a few songs were pretty good. I wish we had more than 5 stars to work with because again this is a 3.5 on star basis but on a 1-10 rank it's a 6 or 7. I hate lumping so many albums on here into the 3s but that's where we're at.

Historically important, but the lyrics didn't do much for me, the songwriting wasn't consistently engaging, and the long jam at the end completely lost me. I found two songs I'll throw on a giant playlist, but I'll likely never play the album again 2 stars

Wtf this is the second Stones album in a row. Come on. This one is less boring than yesterday so it can get 3 stars. I imagine this will be the pinnacle for them
