1001 Albums Summary

Life on Mars, Changes are the shining stars on this album. But even the lesser known songs like Andy Warhol are great listening.

This was my first listen to this album. I am super familiar with the singles. But it was cool to listen to the entire album from cover to cover.

Great live album. Lots of classics.

I used to use to not be a Pretenders fan but after listening to this album I am still not a Pretenders fan.

Highway Star and Smoke on the Water were the only songs i was familiar with before listening to this album. Interesting album but not one I’d go back and listen to. I did go back and listen to HA and SOTW.

Listened to this twice. After the first listen I realized I didn’t give it enough attention. I put it on a speaker for the second listen and I got a better take on the album. I don’t always fully understand why Dylan is regarded so highly but at some level I can understand it.

I will say that Who's Next is carried by two (maybe three) songs tops. I don't think it's an extraordinary album.

This is what Radiohead would sound like if Bjork was the lead singer. And I don’t say this in a good way. This was a struggle to get through.

I enjoyed this album. Barbarism begins at home was probably my favorite off the album. Listened the the album twice.

Great album that always takes me back to a pivotal point in my life. I didn’t appreciate how great the album was at the time. I just knew I liked it.

This was a Beastie Boys album that flew under my radar when it came out. I owned Licensed to Ill and loved it but didn’t really know about this album until almost ten years after it came out. It could well be their best album.

Sucked

First time listening to an album from this band. I enjoyed it. I will probably check out more of their work. Album was pretty consistent style wise. Interested to see what the other albums are like.

I remember not liking the singles off this album because they sounded too polished. I’m glad I gave the whole album a listen. It was pretty good. Definitely polished but I don’t mind that now.

Fame is the only redeeming song for me on this album. Not a fan of the Philly solo on this album.

This album takes me back to the summer of 99. A great time in my life. As for the album I think I like a lot of the non singles more than the singles.

I had never listened to this album. I only knew a few songs off of it. But this album was exceptional. I really enjoyed it.

Mr Bluesky is the track for me on this album. Everything else was forgettable for me.

DNF - I still love Son Of A Preacherman but I couldn’t get into the rest of the album

Solid album by a band i only know by singles. Enjoyed the album but wasn’t blown away by it.

Ugh

Didn’t know much about this band prior to listening to this album. I enjoyed it and plan to check out more of their stuff. I really enjoyed the first track (on second listen) with Peter Buck on guitar.

I skipped ahead a lot on this album. It just wasn’t for me.

There was a time where I didn’t like the Rolling Stones at all. I’ve grown to like them and I enjoyed listening to this album for the first time.

There are a few tracks on here that really take me back to a time when I first remember paying attention to music. Time After Time is a track that always resonated with me and I enjoy it even more 40 years later. Overall i think the album is really solid too.

Pretty cool album. I’m more in love with the album artwork than the music itself though.

It surprised me how different The Verve and The Verve Pipe sound just a few years apart. I enjoyed this album. Wasn’t super familiar with it outside of the singles.

Was not familiar with XTC outside of Peter Pumpkinhead. This was a departure from that song or vice versa. This music is heavily influenced by the Beatles in a good way.

First time listening to this band. First time hearing of this band. Enjoyed experiencing it. Going to check out their other stuff.
