Not my thing. If I am going to listen to that type of music I would much rather prefer Frank Zappa
Always a classic from start to finish. No skips.
Good classic 50’s jazz, or at least my limited understanding of it. Not really my jam but solid example.
Nostalgic album from college. I never got the Flaming Lips before or after this album but this one really clicked.
Not my jam. Very 90’s. A little soul coughing, a little beastie boys. Which sounds great but did not really do it for me.
So associated with the 70’s and the movies and shows that try to capture that time period. Pretty solid listen but it’s hard to listen to it without evoking other entertainment at this point.
Does not do anything for me - it never did. I know the singles from back when they were released but they were never my favorite and the rest of the album is more of the same.
This album is amazing and happy to see it on the list.
Neil Young is a bit of a blind spot for me so happy to liste to one of his classic albums
I can appreciate putting a Slipknot album in the mix but not this one.
I have always loved this record
Costello is a blind spot for me and I always enjoy his stuff when I listen to it but none of it ever really sticks.
Album not available on Apple Music.
Definitely not my jam. Hippy folk r&b - Grateful Dead, etc. No thank you
The boss doing country. Very solid.
I don’t normally dig The White Stripes but this is a solid record. I enjoy the songs they don’t sound like typical Stripes the most.
Great for what it is, 70’s glam/psych rock but not really my jam. I feel like they have inspired so much of the music of later years that it is hard to go back to the roots of the sound without it sounding like it’s been done before.
U2 was always a bit of a joke to me since I only knew them by their 90’s songs and stadium tours. It is interesting to go back to when they were still a bit raw.
It’s hard for me to get into a Björk album. They all end up sounding more or less the same. Her voice is so singular.
What a character. Personally I greatly prefer his reggae/dub record aux armes et cetera.
Never heard of this guy before but it’s a good listen. Really made me think of my father in law. Strong Pogues energy. Raucous and driven.
Solid kraut rock album, but for my money I will always be a Faust man.
Mother is one of the most gut wrenching songs. Soul bearing music.
Not my vibe. Can respect the songwriting and appeal but I have never caught onto the Del Rey style.
Classic psych rock album. Good stuff.
Classic that I have not listened to in ages. Some real bangers that I completely forgot about. A bit too long since their schtick can get repetitive but I feel that way about every Beastie album.
Just so 90’s. I was never a fan of Husker Du and that grunge/not grunge sound. I’m not sure if it’s the guitar tones or the vocal work but it just does not do it for me.
Super groovy, although for my money I would always just go with the classic best of Al Green.
Solid album. Not totally my jam but some classic cuts.
Super psychedelic. Makes me think of Austin Powers. Some classics on here but it also is easy to see how it became a bit of a parody.
I can dig the folky, borderline eerie sounds of the album. Not one I would spin regularly and if comes for British/Irish folk I am going with the Pogues but happy to be introduced to a band I had never heard of.
I always resented Green Day. Coming up at this time I was down with pop punk with Offspring, Lagwagon, NoFX, etc but this band seemed like it was blessed by the gods of radio/MTV undeservedly. Tres Cool is a legend regardless.
British garage rock is not my thing. I like the garage rock sound generally speaking, and certainly American bands that do it well, but I just found this boring.
I remember SFA being a thing back in college and always dismissed it based on the people listening to them. Having actually listened to them now, I can see the appeal but it’s not my thing. British psych-pop. Well done but I’ll pass.
So much British music this week. Unfamiliar with the band but can hear their influences in later music. Interesting but not my thing.
Such a grimy record. I don’t think I have ever listened to it all the way through and just knew the hits. Classic and mildly cringy.
Absolute modern classic. No skips.
Super fuzzy psych drone record from the 80s that seems ahead of its time. Not something I would put on a regular rotation but an interesting spin. I can hear their influence in bands today.
Super fun listen that was never on my radar. I knew the name of the band but was not familiar with their stuff.
Pure 80’s fun. Quick, light blast from the past and so of their era there is no mistaking their sound and place.
What’s left to say that hasn’t been said.
Not my scene. Bombastic yacht rock. Over the top pop synths. I get why some of them are classics but I’ll pass.
Good find. Voice reminds me of Thom Yorke and there are some Radiohead adjacent vibes. Could grow on me. First song grabbed me but much of the others fell into the background.
Never heard of them before. Have this pseudo Leonard Cohen whisper sing/talking thing. Super low key. Not really my style.
Such a 90’s time capsule. Great British pop prior to the Oasis onslaught. Adorable.
Growing up this what I associated with AC/DC and it wasn’t until I was older that I learned their older stuff was way better. I never liked this band because of this record. Sure the title song is solid but the rest is just lowest common denominator hard rock.
Classic electronic record. Showed how confrontational and aggressive electronic music could be instead of just dance/rave/party soundtracks.
Class if only for The Message.
Not really my jam. Very of an era and that specific sound I just never really got into. The trebley guitars were a nice precursor to some later sounds but the overall hippie/70s vibe I can't help finding overdone.
A whole album of crooning is a too much for me. A song here-and-there sprinkled into a larger swing record is fine but the I find the voice annoying after awhile. The music is great though. I do love the big band swing sound.
I can't count the number of times I listened to this record back in the day when I was a teen. Absolute classic of my youth, but I don't know that it aged all that well. knowing what I know about heavy music now this was mainly special due to its reach and popularity. Still has some serious bangers but also some that were overplayed to death.
