Pleasant enough.Young's voice is not so pleasant.
Lots of Coldplay's classic songs represented in this album
Peaches en Regalia is obviously great but the rest is kind of just Zappa mush that I didn't care for.
Really enjoyed this album!
Perfect example of an album I would've never encountered without this list!
Really enjoying this new introduction to talking heads via this project
I really can't stand Wyatt's vocals, and the experimental music is too far on the side of discordant for me to enjoy. My first 1 star album, I really didn't like it.
I could listen to Joni Mitchell sing for the rest of my life
I didn't expect to give a 5 to any blues albums just because I don't have a good ear for it, but I really enjoyed this particular one.
One of the weaker Beatles albums for me, but it's still a 4 because hey, it's the Beatles
My kind of music, if a little flawed.
Post-punk, female vocals. I loved listening to this!
I thought for sure I would rate Elvis 3 at most just because of the cultural osmosis, but this was enjoyable and deserves its 4!
Amazing energy and another reason for this project, I'm not typically seeking out Afro-Cuban jazz albums!
The face on this album cover will haunt my dreams for the next year
Love the melodies, really enjoyable
U2 makes really good and listenable music and this album is one of the great ones
An exceptional album, one of the best by the Talking Heads
Miles Davis didn't do much for me with this album, not entirely sure why. But it's still very good.
It's not bad but it just wasn't grabbing me
I think I'm predisposed to dislike most of the Beatles contemporaries because they dont flex nearly as much creativity
Very influential and entertaining to listen to
Listenable but not my favorite
Good pop of course, nothing really stands out here except for Bad.
Album cover is hilarious, music was fine
Amazing, gonna recommend this one for people not participating
Literally 69 songs, so it was a marathon to complete, but despite that, I didn't hate it. It gets a 3
Bowie kinda kills it on everything so unsurprisinly enjoyed this a lot.
A genre I love and a band I've never heard of. It was great!
Kind of forgettable, but pleasant enough
I like NIN well enough and this is the Closer album, so I thought it would at least be a 4, but it was just kinda background noise for me
Mesmerizing guitar, had no idea All Along the Watchtower was a cover
I'm a mark for this genre so unsurprisingly I enjoyed it
Expected a 3, got a 4 album, can't complain there. Probably secretly what Death Stranding 2 is all about
Yes might be one of my favorite groups of all time, so seeing them pop up was a delight
Great genre crossover album
Bossa Nova one of the all-time best genres, and this is a prime example
Holy shit what an album, I keep thinking about it long after listening.
Bad concept executed poorly, just an obnoxious album to revisit
The only Sex Pistols album we got but it's definitely a good listen
An extremely good piano performance with an insane backstory. Most of the album being improvised is just even more icing. Eager to listen to this again soon.
I don't enjoy Springsteen all that much but this album is fine enough.
Fantastic album, really enjoyed it!
Respect being the first track on this thing and it maintaining that quality throughout makes this an all-timer.
Some of the albums on here, you feel compelled to not rate a 5 because you think "well, it can't be that good, it must be overblown". Yeah Jimi Hendrix is a 5, no question.
Pretty good all things considered, despite my dislike of the genre
Starting this up, I was excited to hear more of Adele since I had only really heard Hello off this album. Unfortunately, it felt like she recorded 11 versions of Hello. Just really boring to me unfortunately.
dear God no, a bad idea and a bad album
big yawn, not my genre, and a bad example at that.
Seems like a bit of a power move to put yourself on the album cover, shirtless, for a group act.
Not bad, just not notable
Great album and even Muddy Waters looks pleased with it on the cover
The kind of shit ass music Austin Powers would probably obsess over
Most bands pick one lane to excel in, Beck wants to be good at them all, and frequently is
new band makes old genre is not as refreshing as you ever want it to be
As with most of my 3's, it mostly means I didn't hate anything here but I also didn't really enjoy it, just background noise
Amazing, an album that's worth the listen
Great album name but the music is just kinda meh
Fine enough, album cover kinda freaks me out
They named a song on this album 'Supergroovalisticprosifunkstication', that alone is enough to get it 5 stars on top of the entire list being bangers.
Expected a mid rating from osmosis, but it was a really entertaining listen despite cultural familiarity
Somehow never listened to Boards of Canada despite this being one of my favorite genres. It was fantastic and I was bummed that it's the only one of their albums on the list.
Criminally boring but not obnoxious
Having not listened to much Bob Dylan in my life, I get the hype and this album is fantastic
Definitely seen this album cover before but never heard it, enjoyed the hit of grunge
Enjoyed more than I expected since it's out of my wheelhouse, very funky
Frank Ocean trying to bait me with that PS1 boot sound and the Street Fighter 2 theme, but this album was pretty good regardless
One of the weirdest music things that exists, mostly one note but definitely worth experiencing
Classic rock radio ass album, it's fine
Concept albums are usually bad and I was primed to think this was lame, but it's actually pretty good and I'd watch the movie that was made to utilize it.
Good album that lost a point because Morrissey is involved, landing it right in the middle.
This guy again! This album is better than Shleep for sure, but I still am really put off by his atonal vocals. The experimental nature of this album is much more up my alley than Shleep was. I'd be surprised if Robert Wyatt was not an influence on The Books, one of my favorite duos.
One note but I liked the note.
Background Irish noises with a random Beatles jumpscare in the middle
First album I've regularly listened to on this project so far. My kind of music. Vocals are perfect accompaniment to the electronic creepy tunes.
One of those radio bands I never knew the name of. Good stuff!
Morrissey sucks, and this self-important album where he bitches about all the things that annoy him from his high horse would've been all right, maybe a 3.3 if it wasn't Morrissey singing and wasn't so pretentious. 2 for the melodies and the sound of the vocals if not the content.
Full of spirit and energy, fantastic background music
Another 5 for the list. Powerful throughout, amazing voice, great lyrics
Tons of energy, really good listen. Zombie is the standout.
Hangar 18 is insanely good and the rest of the album holds up as well.
Extremely easy to listen to. Discovered a new track I like from them in Spacelab.
Wow check it out the album name already rated it for me! Only reason this isn't a 1 is because Scott's voice is really nice. Way too many slurs in these lyrics.
Fine enough music but almost too ethereal, slides right off of me, nothing to grab onto
Heard this way too much on the radio so there's no novelty, good though
The Byrds and country, name a less iconic duo. That song about the Christian life deserves a wedgie.
Obviously some great songs in here but didn't grab me much. Still worth a four star
Really easy to listen to! I expected it to feel old fashioned but I really enjoyed this
This may not be true for everyone, but what I want from a live album is the feeling of being at the recording, whether that's a recording for a giant auditorium of folks or an intimate setting like this album was recorded in. The moments when Sarah Vaughan makes mistakes and improvises to keep on rolling makes this a better album. If I wanted a perfect clean recording, well that's what a studio album is for. This album achieves the sense of sitting in the audience and watching her sing and the piano player play.
Surprise! More Byrds! The music equivalent of tap water
Lord take me down to the streets, this was a good album
Banger after banger, kind of an insane debut album
Was ready to hate this but at least it doesn't sound like Austin Powers music, pleasant listen
