A return to a great record. Its difficult to not feel that the time for "21st century schizoid man" has only really come in the present.
In all it's proggy glory, In The Court Of The Crimson King is full of hooks and instantly memorable melodies.
Quite enjoyable, not as minimalist as Either/Or that I had previously listened to a couple of time. Still haven't taken the time to go into the lyricism more deeply.
Very energetic, but also calmer gems in here. Loved listening on Headphones.
Good, probably really good, but not my favorite Dylan.
My first time listening to a full Marilyn Manson Album. It didn't do very much for me.
Really growing me. First time really paying attention to pixies lyrics. Noise pop?
Big throwback to playing a burned CD of this in high school. Burial is such a great track. I like the whimsy Tosh tracks less.
Pretty good, completely new to me.
Vocals are not growing on me. Probably a good album for some.
Knew half the songs from passive exposure. Worth paying attention to!
Not bad! First listening to a full record.
Ok, on the record that features "Love fool", I did not expect multiple instances of Sabbath worship! Outside of the well known hit, this record is packed with hooks and bits of cool lines.
Bleak and minimal, still need to listen to it more .
Loud. Lots of hits, still deserves more listens.
Barely bareable if you manage to ignore the vocals.
Pretty good. I am liking this way more than the last time I listened to it. Making delayed trains around Köln much smoother.
Paying attention to this reveals a lot of finely crafted melodies. It's also not produced in an overly clean fashion like some of the following folk rock of the nest decade will be.
Meeting me in a spacemen 3 / spiritualized phase, this fits right in.
This would go super hard live
Can there be too many vocal lines?
Doomy, grungy, and lots more
Liked it better than Document
Hearing a lot of Bowie in this one, obviously
Catchy, but I just don't like the vibe of those guys
Good sample choices throughout
not fully clicked yet, but see potential
The worst and best moments of classic rock all in one album
not just the filter sweep
It's not bad but I rarely listen to it
Cool to find tutti frutti here
One of those super well known artists, that I never awarely listened to. Catchy for sure
Still want to get into it more
Not as dark as many others by Nick cave
Adding to my adventure rock list
Somehow I like this record less with every listen, even though it has great songs
Ah that Bayern 3 Sound. Not bad but much of the same?
Need to get it in my head that this is not Gil Scott Heron
Need to listen to note fka twigs
Enjoy the jazz and funk bits most
Actually more experimental than the original post punk sound had me think
can sound a bit samey on the surface but it's worth paying attention
Never heard of this before. Not sure where I stand on it yet
Tough listen on a Monday morning, but cool to listen something from them other than the björk collab
That turns out not to be a concept album / children's TV series ost
Interesting how Days That Used To Be sounds quite a bit like the all star live version of My Back Pages
The ones with a county twang I liked most!
A lot heavier than that dog barking track i know
Did not do much for me, but can see it grow
Fairlight synth on a diy record?
All tracks from Once In A Lifetime onward are crazy good
Gives me Proto Gorillaz vibes
Excellent album. The hill I am willing to die on is that it's not nearly as revolutionary an electronic album as the discourse around it is making it up to be
Better than expected, turns out this band isn't so bad when not listening on a car radio or club speakers
Bit too artsy for my taste
Don't like it as much as I want to
Easy to forget how good their songs are
This is like my least favorite music. Best track Dulcimer Stomp (without The Other Side)
Need to listen to them more album based
On the fence whether this would become a 2 or 4 with repeated listens
Know it for a long time, the synth parts are driving this thing forward
Perfectly pleasant, just not sure what the combination of Frank and Antonio is so special to be included here
Like the ones with a country twang, the rest are mid
who up osing they mutantes rn
Fun but never loved it a lot
Decent, catchy, but no instant hit
I can't really place this type of music.
good! still don't wrap my head entirely around what this band is about
really need to get into that shit
Listens to that a bunch back in 2016 but then forgot about it
Better than that glam rock one, but still nothing I would spend time with
Rhythmically very cool, could have done with a few tracks less imo
Classic I'm very aware off, but somehow isn't logged in my last.fm. probably listened at a friend's in vinyl
Crazy sounds specked throughout
obviously funky, but wasn't too memorable upon first liste
didn't know at all, and can't yet place it musically
I like the Umm, Oh Yeah Dearest sound much more than this
Blown away by Danny Boy and the transition to Desperado
It good, always need to take time to take in the complex song structures
blown away by the album version of No Woman No Cry
Never managed to get into it very well. Interesting to hear the much more hip hop sided sound compared to Mezzanine.
Very helpful to not listen passively on moms car radio
dark and near perfect to me.
It slaps, but I might not ever get into this type of 90s hip hop much more
It good, listened while driving
not a good driving record, hard to hear anything. should revisit elsewhere
Iconic and a bit grating at times
Some tracks recklessly unhinged (which I like) others stir my dislike for rockabilly/psychobilly (which the monks obviously predate)
(perhaps obviously) really good, but I always feel I'm not American enough to really get it
Love I Think We Are Going To Be Friends but the test doesn't do much for me
an album you enjoy without remembering a single track
used to listen to them a lot!
Very cohesive. Feels like one continuous rave. But hard to remember individual tracks
My fav Santana, doesn't feel to work out and cool album art
No idea what the goal of this keyboard orchestra is
Nails the atmosphere, funny as heck, and the jazz so smooth
First time I actually get this record and really good. Fuck Kanye anyway.
Synth whistles frying my brain and I'm here for it. This one also has the tracks a mere casual like me recognizes.
The right mix of pop and psych
I see they are a decent rockband. What makes this stand out?
I'm not sure I get what this is trying to do, but I liked a few individual tracks
This feels a lot less like a circus compared to schools out
really aching for country and this was really good
good - wanted to get more into this OKC band more for a while
Love the slow ones and the fast ones. Love the synth and Foley sounds swirling in, love the bass playing, love the drum sound
Good listening to the album, I think most of plays come from hell freezes over
reggae infused punk full of hooks
Super strong sunny stroll album when you're not sure yet what kind of day it will be
super powerful, amazing backup vocals, great reverbs
all sounds kinda the same to me
have to admit I mostly liked the more conventional tracks on this. Imagine this would be a ton of fun life though
gotta say this is starting to work better for me
I somehow always find this music pretty dorky and lacking a cool factor. music isn't bad.
I think this is quite well regarded. To me this production never really works, feels like a collage of layers more than a track often. Probably I am missing some musical context.
The low points are still extremely good
make my head bob, even though I find not too much I like in this
ever downward until rock bottom (hurt)
Still don't really get the hype, what makes it special
Definitely revolves around a single sound. But tracks are really good
better every time I listen to it. Find the themes do get old
Relistened on vinyl in a dark room. No idea when I last listened to it in full. Hard to imagine hearing this the first time when it came out.
Hits are on here, but it also just sounds pretty grating
I mean I like it. Curious to see the global rating
Good, but not much stuck on my first (too inattentive) listen
Need to get more into the middle of the album. First two and last song already top
interesting how a lot of brazlian music from that era has a very distinctive sound
yo I gotta check this out much more. How haven't I heard about them yet in my forais into shoegaze and 90s music?
could honk a bit more, but not bad
gotta say this is not a record for a calm morning
ah yes, ignored radio songs. Really dug the closing track!
lots of noodeling, but also not bad
never heard of em. Funky yeah, all sounds a bit samey on the first listen. But saved Kingsize for driving.
If there are bad stevie albums, I haven't found them yet
Can't believe this record is so early
Ah that sweet radio sound. good
Love the autobahn riff and generally finger snapping is very much a thing I do
so good. I think they could have made it shorter, but honeslty the fillers are still super good
this feels like music fallen out of time and context
fun and silly in a good way :)
interesting how dry this is produced
First time listening to the songs I know from it in their album context. Overall really great meddl
quite noodly, but this worked ok for me
that shoebox albini sound :)
have not fully unraveled this, but good?
