this is a very mixed bag for me 15 step - very cool and interesting to listen to bodysnatchers - couldnt be more boring nude - good but not for me weird fishes - no idea, 5 minutes of the same chord ? all i need - boring faust arp - cool! i liked this one reckoner - weird fishes 2.0 house of cards - finally a bit of progression in this type of track!! jigsaw falling into place - might have to relisten idk videotape - good background song so on average maybe a solid 3

i am very undecided about the singer's growls in the first two songs, whether its goofy or cool. i think that is a general feeling about this album: 'girlfriend's in a coma' ???? particularly enjoyed the chord progressions in 'death of a disco dancer' and 'last night i dreamt that somebody loved me' 'stop me if you think you've heard this one before' goes super hard too
what can i say... its elvis :) positively surprised by the 'i love you because' duet, bit corny but hey let me have it 'just because' is also very fun. not the biggest fan of the style but probably iconic and important for pop music history idk
i like: just might be ok daydreamin' hurt me soul american terrorist also whenever the lyrics did get into my brain, it was touching and honestly many based takes (in hurt me soul)
liked: alison (before hearing lyrics lmao) red shoes watching the detectives fun and groovy album
favs: summer babe conduit for sale! zürich is stained fame throwa
really good, my favourite album so far
should be 4.5
nice but got very repetitive
not my cuppa

treat it like a 4.5

1.5 but feeling generous
should've listened to lyrics more :wilted_rose: didnt catch me musically at all
childhood music <3
i am truly in despair about not liking this more
It was recorded over four sessions in July in the Los Angeles Record Plant studio in front of a small invited audience set up to recreate the atmosphere of a jazz club. reviewers thought at the time that its cool but to me that just sounds like a fragile ego and thats how the music sounds too ??? inviting a bunch of yesmen to record an album to make it sound like you're rocking a club
a welcome introduction to kraut
2.5
sigh. another radiohead
surely it had its time and place. not 2025 though
beatles minus the fun
wish i liked it more. seems cool and innovative
high 4
at the start of listening: "eh this is not so bad" after the fifth identical song: "oh. i get it"
being generous with the 3
a tad to atonal but nice
mid now, probably spectacular in 66
oh my. such a mixed one. bangers like 'in the morning of the magicians' and 'are you a hypnotist??' preceeded and followed by the lamest plainest songs like the namesake of the album and the most popular 'do you realize??'... im just confused
sleeping
sorry singer songwriter enjoyers, not for me
legendary, though i liked it less than i remembered, 4.5
proof that singer songwriter can be straight fire
cool songs individually but gosh is it hard to listen to the boogie woogie chord progression for 45min
listened only the first half :/
cant even enjoy the titular song after an hour of whatever even though its objectively not bad
very high 4, very fun
banger. no notes
probably cooler if you aren't lyrics deaf
too piratey
4.5 or so
cool for individual songs, too repetitive
bemsha swing was by far the best
really good esp. the end, bit too much filler in the middle
