A top 25 album for me. Top 3 tracks: Endless, Nameless Stay away Breed

Liked the band, really great. Ray Charles playing and voice were very mid.

Tons of energy. R&B is not really my thing but this was great listen.

Better than the genius of Ray Charles but it’s just not good. Ray Charles is overrated.

Absolutely fantastic. Hendrix is a true master of his craft.

This is a great album. I knew of Dire Straits, but didn’t realize Mark Knopfler was an absolute master of his craft. This album embodies my opinion that great music no matter the genre is that which makes you feel something.

For an album in a language I do not speak, this completely blew me away, as well as introduced me to several other world artists such as Boubacar Traore(Kele), Oumou Sangare(Ah Ndiya), The Touré-Raichel Collective(Azawade), and Vieux Farka Touré (Slow Jam). A really great into to African music.

The blues-y side of Zeppelin really comes out on this one. A great album.

Shoegaze. It’s ok but done better by so many others.

A very meh album sound like a shit version of Velvet underground.

A good listen enjoyed a lot of these tunes I generally skip over.

What a disappointment. I was familiar with some of XTC's work, but outside of the final track, this is an entirely forgettable album.

Absolute trash. I love punk and this is not good. Rides the line between hair metal riffs and the punk style untrained vocals. In not picking a lane the whole thing blows.

Who knew The Beach Boys could suck this bad? I was surprised when I saw this album pop up today because I’ve never heard of it. After listening, I know why.

I was familiar with about half of these songs, and was happy to find the ones I didn't already know were really good.

Very unique. Started out very Velvet Underground meets punk. The got really Avant-garde experimental. Not really bad or good. Odd to be to the point.

This is an album I’ve heard before. It’s a shame it only has one good track.

I pretty much hate RHCP. This album did nothing to change that opinion. A couple decent song but there is nothing special here. I could definitely have died without ever hearing this one.

Very average. Down tempo atmospheric electronic. Not my vibe.

Early electronic/techno. A lot of experimenting with sounds. Interesting but not really listenable.

Bob is great this is a great reggae album.

Had some decent tracks but nothing incredibly "must listen". Still it's the Beatles so the good ones are still quite good.

This was total garbage. I didn’t need to listen to this before I died. If someone played this for me on my deathbed when it was over I would tell them I wish I had died an hour ago.

I guess this is considered an industrial music must listen. Seemed a bit subpar. Ok just not the hype I’ve heard for so long about it.

Interesting 80s hip hop. Different I guess.

Light funk. He talk- sings the whole thing. If you heard one track that’s enough they are all the same. No need to ever listen again.

Lou has a great voice. Really makes fantastic music. It’s not The Velvet Underground but really good.

Good Delta blues. It's no BB King but nothing is.

This is absolute dog shit. I yearned for deafness. No idea how anyone could listen to this whole thing at once. I had to break it up into 20 minute segments in an effort to give the whole thing a legitimate chance. All copies of this, physical and digital, should be burned in a fire. I'd rather listen to raccoons mate in the woods.

Really great voice. However none of these songs really spoke to me.

Decent. "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" is a great song but if, like me you've ever heard the Roberta Flack version this pales in comparison to that. The rest of it is pretty good slow jams, but nothing to really write home about.

Pretty decent album. A unique sound. Nothing here to make me want to come back to it but interesting nonetheless.

I love the Clash. This is a great album. It’s 3rd in my ranking of Clash albums. Behind London Calling and Sandinista! . That doesn’t mean it’s bad I just like those other two more.

This was the first DM album I heard sometime around '91. I still really like this album all these years later. A great representation of the synth-pop sound of the time.

I’ve only listened to this album about 1000 times before so…yeah this is a great one. Love to hear that blues influenced sound with Ozzy’s haunting lyrics.

Sad lyrics paired with surprisingly up beat music considering the lyrical content. This is a great Elliot Smith album. Loved to find that he was on the list.

The Cramps are great, love that voice vibrato. driving surf rock sound with a punk ambiance.

Greatness

Chrissie Hynde has a one of a kind voice and really makes this album work. Some great tracks on this album.

A lot of it kind of has a gospel choir sound mixed with a Country/Bluegrass sound. Some other songs sound more like folk music. Pretty cool.

Has a lot in there, remnants of Joy Division, Bits that sound like The Cure, bits that sound like Depeche Mode, and the classic sound of what new order is.

I can't remember the last time I was this bored by music. It's like someone challenged him to write 21 versions of the same song. This is the white rice of music. Not good not bad, just boring AF.

I was there when this was released, I have a good understanding of it's cultural importance, but the music is just meh.

What a great album, I have always loved Sonic Youth and felt they were underappreciated in their time. Really started the whole shoegaze thing. What they do sonically is really unique. They aren't all winners but the ones that hit are so good.

Some pretty good tunes here. I was expecting less from what I assumed was thrash. Some great tracks here. Pleasantly surprised.

This is my second album by these guys. I really enjoy this guy's voice. The southern sound is pretty cool especially considering they are almost all Canadian.

It's a decent album with exactly 1 good track. That doesn't really constitute an album worth listening to before I die. The longer I get into this project the more I realize there are way too many albums included in the 1001 that have a singular track worth hearing.

Unfortunately, this was chosen over Songs for the Deaf. This is an okay album but SFtD is more representative of what QOTSA are.
