"Rite Here Rite Now" is a concert movie of metal/rock band Ghost. The music on the album is the soundtrack. Ghost makes rather cheesy bombastic hard rock. Musically it is not interesting. The visuals on stage during the performances of Ghost are the opposite. It's a bit like Rammstein, but the music is worse. I can imagine a performance of this band or this movie being a four star experience. This album (and live albums should not be on this list) is not.

I think I could describe this as pop-metal. They use a lot of clichés and musically it's not that interesting

Does anyone know where this was performed. I hate when they don’t mention it. For real though, he must have called out Las Angeleeees twenty times. One or two times is endearing, this just felt completely disingenuous. The whole thing did and, with a live album, that’s what matters most because they are speaking directly to live people. Ruins the whole thing if the performer feels like they don’t respect an audience that is, literally, in front of them. The instrumentation was good. Technically talented, but emotionally vacant. The singing too. Production was hogwash. I’m not a phan of live albums. 3/5

When I saw that this was a motion picture soundtrack I realized that I can watch this concert film/motion picture and get the music. So why not? This was so much fun! I love the music. The concert film was really great! Would I ever have thought I should go to a Swedish Rock group concert? No. After this, I would definitely consider it! This album and the concert film are terrific! The band is highly theatrical - so fun to watch! The little interludes backstage were cool and rolled out a little family drama that was pretty interesting. The music is theatrical and complex.. loved the skeleton dance crew… lots of fun! Ok, so I’m not meant to be rating the movie… but I do recommend it as a great way to experience this music. Very interesting band with a lot of thought put into the lore behind them with Papa Emeritus IV and the nameless ghouls. Definitely adds to it all. They seemed familiar and then I read that they played The Late Show with Stephen Colbert for Halloween a long time ago, which may have been where I first heard of them. Glad to have this come back on my radar!

One of my favorite live albums of all time. The movie was terrific. If you have ghost, you have everything. Instant 5 stars.

Every time I think of Ghost, that one image of a guy describing them as "goofy Scooby Doo chase music" pops in my head. But yeah, this slaps. At first I wasn't sure if I was in the mood for 90 minutes of live sorta-heavy sorta-metal today, but I had an absolute blast with it in the end. Cheesy over-the-top bullshit is one of my many weaknesses.

I'm going to relisten to this because it really piqued my curiosity. Pulls heavily from glam and other classic forms of rock, pretty engaging too.

Once again, why a live album? It doesn't add anything that isn't already in the studio, especially for an album like this. We get a bit of extra singer talking and some crowd interaction but is it worth it? No. If you submit a live album, it better be fucking incredible or noteworthy in some way (e.g. Talking Heads Stop Making Sense) Okay as for the band, I've never listened to them but I've heard them, mostly because people hate them for some reason. I don't get it. The aesthetics are a bit goofy but y'all, metal is goofy af. If anything, I wish more bands went in with a strong vision. The music itself isn't all that remarkable and pretty much what you would expect from a band called Ghost. My personal rating: 3/5 My rating relative to the list: 3/5 Should this have been included on the original list? No.

I haven't really listened to Ghost much in the past decade since I obsessed over 'Meliora' in 2015, and I mean it positively when I say it sounds like not much has changed since then. The soundtrack billing is a bit confusing when it's simply a regular live LP, but that quibble aside I mostly enjoyed the album. The production quality is crisp with a good touch of crowd noise, and the tracks mostly come through as 1:1 counterparts of their recorded versions. Good intro to the band, which has maintained a solid output of technically solid (if somewhat homogeneous) arena metal that makes for a fun listen. I would've opted to add a singular LP from the band's discography, but this still works as a Ghost addition.

Banda sonora de una película. Es una especie de concierto de rock/heavy. ¡Pero no es una película, es una grabación de un concierto realmente! Qué cosas... Muy largo. Ni fu ni fa.

Didn’t think I was going to enjoy, ended up doing some research into the band. I like the theatrics around this group. I think I’d like to see the film.

Never listened to this band before. It’s not bad, but was a 90 minute live album the best introduction? Also love that the wikipedia link in the artist page is for the concept of ghosts

To me this felt like the product of am era 40 years earlier. It's wild this band was formed in 2006. The primary flavor is 80s hair rock, with distinct flavorings of 70s/80s black metal. Satanism is such a goofy choice in the 21st century, especially this kind where the style is a literal inversion of high Catholic tropes. Fun, very retro rock-n-roll concert attitude, not deep. Not really for me but I didn't hate it.

I feel like I'm listening to Spinal Tap. It's alright, just not my thing. 3 stars.

Sounds like the album cover looks. And too long.

Live album, so doesn't really belong in the book. Still somehow sounds over-produced and too polished, and not like a live show at all. A band I have heard a lot, but never really taken to - just a bit dull and perhaps too reliant on gimmicks. Not offensively bad, but pretty close.
