Imagine a better album
Sounds like noise to me... and not the good kind
I had to go to YouTube to find it. He may be the Algerian sensation - but I wasn’t feeling it. But I have to admit I was surprised by the Imagine cover. Not necessarily in a good way. Just surprised.
Somewhere between not very good and not my type of tunes.
Horrible week of selections ended with a clunker
I can’t shake the feeling I’m being tricked into listening to the Algerian Gary Barlow.
I tried. Listened to the whole thing. Read up on the guy, and okay, seems like this isn't a total asspull addition to the list, but Jesus fucking Christ. No. I'm sure it goes reasonably hard on a trip to the Sahara or something, but I live in the mountains, man. I feel like a white woman going to a Mexican restaurant and saying 'Konnichiwa" to the waitress. Vibes are off. Can't do it.
I can't say if this is good or bad, but I can say it's not for me...
That's not music for me. I'd rather listen to hip hop, which I don't like at all. I've heard enough of this music blaring out of the open windows of our little oriental friends' overpowered cars. 1/5
El harba wine, best 4 min 34 seconds of my life, is the only song playable on spotify
🐶
Where the heck is Aicha?
I wish music could be uninvented.
Nope. Kinda like the music, but - not his singing.
I listened to maybe 4 songs of this on YouTube before I gave up. I know others have had a hard time finding this album too. I'm not entirely sure why that is. What I heard sounded like contemporary middle eastern music and it wasn't bad but it's definitely not something I'm going to seek out.
I do not understand the inclusion of this album on the list. A rare miss when venturing outside of the Western hemisphere.
no.
There are great arabic artists and albums out there and they still found a way to add this crap to the list. Incredible.
Why are so many of the world music albums on this list albums that try to incorporate so much influence from western music. I wanna hear the actual world music, not some dumbed down westernified stuff.
Trash, the sorta music you hear in a NYC cab
I hated it. I really don’t care for this style/genre/microtonal singing
Minus minus minus
Terrible.
Call me uncultured swine, but I really can’t get much into this at all. 1.5/5
Nope... nope
no idea why this is on the list at all
Got as far as the terrible cover of Imagine. No thanks.
Nope.
Not for me 1/5
💩
No thank you.
Spotify only has one song from this album available in the US, but based on that...yeah, no.
No es mi estilo.
Did not like the one song I listened to
This is not enjoyable at all, I appreciate different cultures have different tastes and do like that this list includes that but really not for me.
Couldn't finish 1 song.
Imagine Raba-Raba
Que bosta
i love some eastern funk check out habibi funk compilations not thius
Was it the train of screaming school children or the album itself? We’ll never know. What we do know is that I will not be tuning in again, apologies :(. Under different circumstances you might’ve been the one (probs not).
Not available on Apple Music.
Couldn’t find it on Spotify
Unable to download songs
Tried to listen, but for some reason only one song from the album was available to play on spotify.
I just couldn't get into it.
Not for me.
I don't know what I'm meant to do with this album, not speaking any of the languages it's performed in, and there's also a really bad cover of Imagine on there. I'm absolutely here for a broader representation of world music/non-English influences but at least make it good if you're adding it.
Not on Spotify. L
If this album was sung in English I would rate it a 1 because it’s generic and bland pop. So just because it’s sung in Arabic I won’t give it any charity either. And also his cover of Imagine is insipid and doesn’t add anything at all.
I’m all for getting out of your comfort zone and listening to something you normally wouldn’t but… not this
It’s not available as a whole album anywhere. Why is this here?
Not for me
Niin uskomattoman perus poppia samoilla vinkula vankula äänillä aina kuuluu ahmadin autossa ku mennään päristään... Vihaan poppia.. ei auta vaikka kieltä vaihdatetaan... Uskomattoman paska kokemus.. Progressive vinkuna...
French Arab style music. Non for me
Not available on Spotify. 1 song was pretty good
Horribly dated production and bland. I like some of Khaled's other albums but this is a bizarre choice, borderline unlistenable. El Harba Wine is a tune tho
Got to second track and stopped. Seriously.... 1001 albums and they chose this? Not for me, it was busting my head trying to listen to this. A load of bols
Not for me.
only el harba wine available on spotify
Ja..
I don't drive a taxi, so why the fuck would I listen to this?
I'm sure in it's way this is popular and groundbreaking and I'd probably have got into this a few years ago but today it hit me in the wong way. Too poppy and upbeat I think.
I can’t listen to this album so idk gonna rate 1 star
Not my cup of tea at all
I tried, but despite the polyglot offerings, I didn’t really enjoy it.
Not my cup of tea
only 2 songs play on this album on the spotify platform😮💨😔. not the best ill have to look it up somwwhere to fully enjoy😮💨
Not a fan.
Not much of a fan of Middle Eastern Pop....
Not for me. I don't get how this makes the list.
I tried, I really did...melha was probably the closest thing on here that I could handle. But the Imagine cover was like Gal Gadot all over again. Not for me.
👎
This one wasn’t for me
Takes it off the list. Sorry Khaled Cover art: minus one out of 5
No mamen, no voy a escuchar esta mierda.
jamais j'écouterais cette merde!
Don’t know what’s being said. And don’t care for the Arabian instrumentals. This could be a great album but to me it is a lot of noise. 1.0/10
It was so far removed to most stuff I listen to I was finding it fairly interesting. And then they did the Imagine cover. Fuck me
1 1/2
imagine, that I had to spend two hours listening to that crap. Awful stuff, the only thing I did while listening was praying for the end. Worst album generated til now. Imagine such a cover of Imagine tho xD
Oh fuck off.
This came out of the gates strong, El Harba Wine is like '90s Euro Pop through an Arab music filter. Or maybe Arab music through a '90s Euro Pop filter. Whatever. So that's good, but it went downhill from there pretty quickly. A terrible John Lennon cover and a lot of very '80s sounding cheese. and schmaltz. Most of the album is restaurant background music at best. At least it wasn't DJ Khaled I guess, so that's a small win.
Not my jam
Nah
I only remember the hit song Didi from his debut album Khaled (1992). It was a chore to get through this album, I'm afraid. It can be refreshing to hear one song in this Arabic/Western crossover style, but a whole album of this is indigestible to me.
This was just not for me.
Might be good, but not on Spotify...
Cudan mi turski, a glazba vise manje.
Rađe bi slušao DJ Khaleda.
Are you kidding?
Khaled?! If Bonde do Tigrão pops up here I'llnot be surprised. No, serious WTF, that's total crap. This album doesn't even have Même pas fatigué... It's all rrrllluirrrkirrllaarrrrhhhullarrr
Not for me thanks
I can say that this is actually better than most of the pop coming out of the US and the UK at the time. The cat seemed to like it. Or maybe he hated it, he started howling pretty good. This is competent music, created by a polished professional, and it shows. That said, this just isn’t for me
Shhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiaaaaaaaaaatttttttttteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Prob big in Middle East, just not used to this style of music and unlikely to adopt it.
yeah not my vibe.
I mean…. I don’t know man. I need to find some new music soon but this ain’t it.
dafuq
There is no reason for this album to be here... I mean, yes it is the 1001 albums you must listen to before you die and all that BS... but c'mon, are we going to listen to a Samba album? Tango album? K-pop? Japanese Ska? African tribal songs? Chinese... whatever they listen to? If the answer is no, then this album doesn't belong here. We all know the list is american-centered anyway...
Umm... I guess I can appreciate that others from different cultures enjoy the wailing pop of Khaled. Not for me at all.
Seriously? Every song sounds the fucking same!
Definitely not what I was expecting when I read 'Khaled' haha,. It was proficient enough, but I really couldn't get into it.
No thank you.
1,5/5
ugh
