Album 617 of 1001 Everything But The Girl - Walking Wounded (1996) Rating : 1 / 5 The album title is apt. I felt like a walking wounded after listening to this electronica crap. I'm sure it is up some others' alley but I just can't get into it.

I don't understand what’s definitive of the music. Soft pop, nothing memorable.

Nothing remotely memorable here. Strangely restrained vocals stuck on top of mediocre backing tracks which don’t go anywhere.

I was pretty keen at the start with the pallet of sounds borrowed from drum and bass and jungle, but there's no getting around that this album is boring and samey. I don't have a problem with weak voices if they come with interest, variety or emotion, but this vocal performance has none of those.

Inoffensive, well produced, very 90s, unremarkable, won’t listen again.

Very forgettable. I listened to it and found it so bland that later in the day I listened to a few songs again and instantly forgot those. No idea why this madentheblist

If you want to try making boiled paste, add about 4 tablespoons of white flour to 2 cups of water and heat in a pan, stirring, until it begins to bubble. Turn off the heat and let it cool, and thicken, a bit before you use it. Time better spent.

Oh, that’s not good. Not my thing, too mid temp, too mid 90s electronica. I’ll pass.

Sounds like what I would hear in the Hyatt lobby. Maybe a little Sade influence? Love Sade but not so much this.

to be honest, I hated this album. I have no idea why it really didn’t do anything to me, but every single time the girl saying I was so angry. It sounded like every single pop song lyrics about wanting the person not being able to get them blah blah blah I’m just sick of these types of lyrics and I really just didn’t like the way that she sang.

I didn't enjoy the other EBTG album on the list, and I enjoyed this one less. Not for me, such wailing, pointless singing.

Same two measures of music with no melody repeating over and over. Just a showcase for the female vocalist. She has a great voice but every single song was about a relationship. Absolute crap.

Very not a music still i tend to enjoy, the elctro-techno thing never did it for me. The voice of the girl really sound like a modern Nico, and technicaly there is good thing in the rest of the album, but not my kind

I’m going to be honest, this was the first album that I couldn’t get all the way through. It was very boring and very repetitive. I’m sure someone somewhere really enjoys that album, but it is definitely not me. 2/10.

Yet another dead on arrival album recommendation from this website: Not only is this one badly out of date, I'd argue that even when it was new it didn't deserve listing in forums such as this one.

I could've sworn I stopped the Sade album. *checks Spotify* Oh, it's not Sade. I think I'd rather this one be 'Becoming X' by Sneaker Pimps. It scratches the same itch, which I don't need scratched that often, without sounding as derivative.
