Breezy songs about nothing as a vehicle for endless guitar noodling. Still, this hour of Dad Rock for Boomers is solidly performed and would have garnered two stars except that it's a live album which drops it to one.

How many late GenX/Early Millennials named Jennifer and Kevin were conceived to ‘Baby I Love Your Way’? The world may never know.

Dull, corny, 3-major-chord nonsense. I had been scared to listen to this for many years, and my fears were completely justified.

Aside from the fact that I don't think Live and Best Of albums should be included here, I also don't ever want to hear another song off this album ever again. I also never wanted to hear any song to begin with. When I was growing up, classic rock stations played Frampton way too much. Like at least once a day. Once a month is plenty. Once a year is optimal.

Live music is meant to be listened to in person. People who listen to live music at home baffle me. "Let me listen to a worse quality version with background noises!!" It's not 1976 anymore pal, get a grip. Each song sounds the same, in a bad way. Even just listening to one song by itself, I feel nothing, it's completely unrecognizable music. I'm going to lose my mind at the time of writing this. I'm going to start skipping through the tracks, I can't stand 80 minutes of this. The music gets a 2/5, but since it's live it gets a 1/5. Also, Doobie Wah is a stand in jojolion and that fight isn't that good and fuck jojolion.

Live albums don't really have a place here.

Peter Frampton's boomer ramblings and irritating stage personality made this live album a real slog. There is zero reason for this album to be nearly 2 hours long.

Look, most of the music I love basically boils down to a British person jerking off with their guitar yet I still could not hang with this absolute slog. One star.

Frankly exhausting. I don't know if I get it, as this came across as absurdly long winded, unoriginal, and boring. Just because something is live doesn't mean it's good or important.

I hate whoever kept whistling, you justify my disdain for live albums. Boring as hell, overly self indulgent--I get that the only thing you know how to do is play guitar, but that doesn't mean I want to hear you do so in a badly recorded snooze-fest of an album. If this was a studio recording it would be a 2/5, but instead it gets a 1.5 rounded down--it's not as bad as some of the 1 stars I've given before, but I hate how boring it is and I can't imagine this being a top 1000 album of all time.

I have never listened to Herd or Humble Pie, but I find the immense popularity (particularly in the USA) of this album rather astonishing. The music is pretty bland and just kind of washes past me. Maybe this is a personal taste thing? But frankly it brings into question what actually gets an album into the list. An album may be a consummate example of musicianship but nevertheless doesn't actually chime with the listener. Are huge sales figures and popularity enough to get on the list? I'm usually looking for a challenging or influential album, something that prompts others to shift boundaries. So, anyway, Frampton Comes Alive! just leaves me a bit cold.

Lightweight commercial "rock". Sorry, I can't. Nothing much to find here. Ah, and I don't care about the corny-ass talk box.

I hate this style of rock music. It's just so bland and boring. He's singing about nothing in particular and there is virtually nothing interesting or exciting about the music. Add to this the fact that it's a muddy, poorly mixed live album with crowd sounds included? What a waste of time.

A particular style of music that I don't really get into. Soft rock, some country hints, white bloke vocals: my brain has heard too much of this on commercial radio. Some nice bass guitar work but I couldn't get through the album this time. It might have been an important album for Peter, but not for me. Sorry, Pete.

Live album with cover versions? Nah! But at least it created a learning interest in this big name of R‘n‘R.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to listen to this because this, even more than many albums on this list, is one everyone says you should listen to, and I never have. Obviously I’m familiar with “show me the way” and “baby I love your way” (and “jumpin jack flash,” but by someone else). But just because I’m familiar with a song doesn’t mean I like it! And even JJF is one of my least favorite Stones songs, so it hardly redeems the rest of this album. This is between a 1 and a 2; we’ll see what I choose.

Pretty boring, honestly

Dad rock in its most boring iteration. Tried to listen to the LP when I took over my dads record collection. Couldn’t make it through. Same story now. Sold the lp to a man in his sixties at a yard sale event. It is now where it belongs, in the record collection of a retired man. I hope he enjoys the guitar solos and think back on a life well spent.

Except for 3 songs this one is awful. Perhaps the most overrated live record ever. It’s no wonder he became a studio guitarist and tour fill in the rest of his career.

Heard before: some I have such nostalgia for this record cover, picturing an imaginary older sibling separating stems and seeds in the gatefold. But when the music starts... eh. It's kind of tuneless, second-rate cock rock, everything bad about the 70s. I'd really rather listen to the Almost Famous soundtrack. The band plays tightly, but I wish the music leaned heavier into power pop and fully embraced the hard rock aesthetics heard sporadically. I also don't personally care for Peter's vocals and have never been a fan of the talk box. Despite enjoying a few songs more than I thought I would, I have very little desire to revisit this. One positive, I suppose, is how this album drove suburban kids crazy enough to learn some guitar licks and form punk bands. Thanks for showing us the way.
