Het vierde album al van deze idioten! Hier word ik echt niet blij van. Wederom een verschrikkelijke zangstem, valse muziek, een boel gekras. Op de tanden bijten, uitluisteren, en nooit meer opzetten.

Even some rap albums are more interesting to listen to. A rare record of irritability. 2 out of 10.

It’s fitting to me that this record has a song called “Total Trash”. This one goes on for far too long, and is filled with noisy riffs and lackluster vocals. It’s not even good as background music.

Absolutely terrible. A dull, grey 70-minute musical wasteland. Noam Chomsky wrote a book about ‘Failed States’ and I think Daydream Nation was listed as one of them. 1.5 stars.

Jedan od onih albuma koji će mi biti teško poslušati u cijelosti, ali probat ću. Svakako lakše nego kad mi je prvotno Spotify izbacio krivu verziju albuma u trajanju od 2.5h 😅 Ovaj vokal mi je užasno iritantan, a nije mi ni ostatak napet. Joj ti alternative rock bendovi, malo mi proradi crijevo uvijek. Ne mogu. Čast izuzecima, iako sad kad razmišljam, ne mogu se sjetiti nijednog benda iz tog djira kojeg volim. Ovo mi je borderline neslušljivo. Ma znaš šta, puši ga. 1/5, 1.5/10

Koji je ovo kurton od albuma. S ovim komentarom bih mogao uvrijediti Karla, ali pošto ovdje pišem osobno mišljenje napisat ću da sam slobodno mogao i preskočit ovaj album Kužim da su oni kul i inovativni i da su imali praktički za svaku pjesmu novu intonaciju na instrumentima, ali ovo meni zvuči kao kombinacija nojza, granđa i Panka, and not in a good way. Red nojza, red plitkih melodija u granđ stilu, pa malo šarafanje delay pedale, pa malo buke, pa idemo opet u pjevanje s nasumičnim, najružnijim akordima koje prsti mogu odsvirati Gle, vjerojatno ovo live zvuči jebeno, popiješ 5-6 piva, zapalis pljugu, iskrades se na WC pa povučeš liniju žutog, pa nazad kljucat ispred zvučnika dok ti bend radi tinitus Ovo je jedan od onih albuma gdje vjerojatno ne mogu ništa lijepo napisati. Pa ću samo poslušati do kraja, dat jedinicu i idemo dalje Ok evo nešto lijepo, rade super buku. Ono kad između pjesama ili usred pjesme naslone gitare na pojačalo pa onda pojačalo radi feedback. Ne znam dal' mi se uho naviknuli ali hey Joni mi je ok sjela Nakon toga su mi opet đanki muzika koja jako ne želi biti pop Rezime, da je ovo album od 20 minuta, bila bi koja zvjezdica više, ovako ostajem s prvom gnjušanjem. Vjerujem da bi mi album ušao pod kožu da se natjeram ovo poslušati još par puta, ali to se nikad neće dogoditi

This wasn't what I expected. It was a hot day. I was busy in work. I had too much coffee. This album sounded like it was recorded in a garage. TOO MUCH NOISE.

Coincidentally this came only three days after "Goo" which I didn't like too much. After three songs, it started to heavily annoy me. Some of the songs seem to never end. Actually they do, but only after more than seven minutes… Not my cup of tea.

Sonic Youth have never been my jam. This, being one of their earlier albums, features pretty terrible production and I've always found their songwriting to be pretty amateurish. I've never understood why they get the acclaim they do because even during their peak, there were much better bands creating significantly better music in very much the same vein.

Meh, track 6 puts it succinctly, Total Trash

Morris, Joseph, Emma, Milo, and Madi could do better

The alleged "genius" of this album must be over my head. Sounds like a bunch of high school kids making noise in the garage.

I can't put my finger on why I found this album so irritating, but I couldn't finish it

A name I knew but had never listened to. Famous for having a woman, Kim Gordon, in the band. Albums that I listen to while I’m working suffer if they’re noisy and distracting like this as I wanted to get it over with so I could concentrate. Is that fair? Possibly not. Do I care? No. Listen to again (possibly) - The Sprawl

Might be the worst record I've ever heard. Just a bunch of industrial noise!

Oof, not much good to say about this album. Weak/yelling vocals paired with instruments making noise (fuzz and feedback) that occasionally broke into the faint sounds of actual music. A painful listen.

Loud, angry screaming. Not at all something I would listen to. Maybe was a voice for a certain young group of people who needed to be heard.

Nope. Not a fan of talking and lots of dissonance noise. Some interesting guitar chords though. Skip a few and eventually stopped listening.

So i quite liked the music but could NOT get past the vocals. Couldn’t get to the end of the album tbh.

I only listened to part of the album. Not my type of music.

Now I know why I didn't listen to this work in college. Many of my friends in architecture school were Sonic Youth fans. I don't enjoy their sound. It's probably amazing for the period when set against pop rock, but to my ear the music has nothing on Bauhaus and The Cure.

So many of these songs go on for too long. Not a fan of the vocalists. Teen Age Riot is probably the only song I'd listen to again. The rest all felt messy and too grungey/screechy for my taste. Was hard to finish this one.

Just a bit shit

While E.V.O.L. left a bad sound in my ears, I tried my best to listen to this album objectively. And, I'm happy to say that unlike the aforementioned album, this actually resembles music. That being said, I don't care for 92.1% of this album. There are a few minutes here and there that exhibit interesting sounds, sounds foreshadowing something like modern day progressive rock: The first 30sec of Track 4, Cross the Breeze, and 30sec in the last 1/3; 40sec of into in Track 6, Total Trash; As a token of good will, I'll give them all 2min 41sec of ambient track 8, Providence; and 1min 9sec of intro of track 9, Candle. That's 330 seconds—5.5 minutes—out of 70 minutes of music that was palatable. I struggled to finish listening to this album, and it's highly unlikely I will ever return to it.

A cheerful version of Joy Division, but boring. Just a wall of noise.

Dramatically pedestrian. Awful off key singing, its jarring, flat and tuneless. The tunes are borderline The Fall, its that bad. Geez they've gotten away with a lot of rubbish this lot, I know Goo has some good moments but this is dreadful. There's a whole lot of noise covering up their lack of any discernible talent. I made it to Hey Joni and cracked.

Ya know, you had a good song there for a bit. WTF is this shit? Jesus fuck. I only made it halfway. Unlistenable. The one star is generous.

It started off being mediocre with the hope of getting better. But it most certainty did not. The album progressively got worst so much to the point it was on volume one where I could barely listen. Not only was the music just plain and boring but also the singing was intolerable. I don’t know which came first- the album or my bad day, but I think the former based on my recollection of it.

This album felt insanely long, and some songs were too long for no good reason. The melodies weren’t memorable enough to back up the excessive instrumental breaks that occurred on most of the songs. I’m trying to get into 80’s music more, but I don’t think I can get into this album. It’s just not for me.

Oh come on. I've already had to listen to two Sonic Youth albums. Mercy, album generator, I beg of you. Teenage Riot is just about tolerable. The rest is not. I liked this album less than E.V.O.L. and Goo, neither of which I liked much at all.

This fucking sucks. Hard pass. At least it makes you appreciate how great other artists are? On the other hand, I hate the velvet underground and Lou reed too, so… Sounds like Hawkwind or Motörhead without uniqueness.

I like to call this genre "sustain guitar depressed teenager music". The album "Peripheral Vision" by Turnover is another honorable case. Anyways: Not my case, this album.

This was truly not for me. Jam band but they don’t like harmony or anything catchy. I guess it was a moment in time but it’s not on my watch.
